Today we pause to remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend, a cookout, or a day off from work. It is a day to honor the heroes who left their families, friends, and homes behind and gave everything so we could enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted.

No words can ever fully repay that debt, but we can ensure their sacrifice is never forgotten. We remember those who never made it home, the families who carry that loss every day, and the legacy of courage, honor, and selflessness they left behind.

To all of our fallen heroes: thank you. We remember you today and always. 🇺🇸❤️

Congratulations are in order for your back to back champions Ulster County Sheriff's Office Shoutout to Coach Justin Watson

They Beat Point God Academy 63-61 in a thrilling back and forth game to take it at the end.

Bruce Maendel lead his team to the victory with 21 Points. He had back up from Corey Haywood and Braeden Thomason who both ended the game with 12 points. Corey Haywood hitting both free throws to put his team up 2 and Braeden who pulled down some crucial rebounds. Congratulations again on winning for the second year in a row see you next year!

We want to take a moment to recognize a group that often goes unseen, but never unnoticed by those of us on the other end of the radio.

Our Dispatchers.

They are the calm voice in the chaos… the steady hand guiding every call for help. While the public sees deputies arriving on scene, it’s our dispatchers who hear the emergency first, often as it’s unfolding in real time. They carry the weight of those moments with professionalism, composure, and heart.

They work long hours, often without breaks, handling call after call… some routine, some life-changing. They hear fear, panic, anger, and heartbreak… and somehow, they respond with clarity, compassion, and control every single time.

They are the first to take the call, yet often the last to know how it ends.

They are unseen heroes, the voices in the dark that keep both the public and our deputies safe.

To our dispatchers: thank you for your dedication, your resilience, and your unwavering commitment to this job. We could not do what we do without you.

You are heard. You are appreciated. And you are an essential part of this family.

Bring your kiddos and car seats to Texas Roadhouse today for their Eggstravaganza! 🎉🍬

The UCSO and UPD Car Seat Safety Teams will be there from 12 PM – 3 PM handing out candy, answering questions, and helping make sure your child’s car seat is safe and properly installed. 👶✅

It’s a great chance to enjoy a fun community event while also making sure your little one is riding as safely as possible.

We’re incredibly proud of our 11–13 squad for being named Most Improved Team this season by Kingston Parks & Recreation!

This group showed up, worked hard, supported each other, and proved that growth comes from dedication and teamwork. That’s what it’s all about.

A special thank you to Deputy & Coach Justin Watson for investing his time and leadership into these young athletes. Mentorship like this strengthens not only our program, but our community as a whole.

The Ulster County Deputy Sheriff’s PBA is committed to continuing this program and creating positive opportunities for our youth for years to come.
