📚 United is the Way to Youth Opportunity.

Every child deserves the opportunity to become a confident reader and reach their full potential.

Through our children's literacy programs, volunteer tutors work one-on-one with students to build reading skills, confidence, and a stronger foundation for success in school and beyond. We’ve seen firsthand what can happen when a child gets the extra support they need. ❤️

As a Member Agency of United Way of Greater Kingsport, we’re grateful to be part of a community-wide effort to create opportunities for local children and families.

When you give to United Way, you help support programs that are making a difference right here at home.

💙 United is the Way to a Healthy Community.

A healthy community is one where people have the tools, resources, and support they need to thrive.

Literacy is part of that foundation. Being able to understand health information, communicate with doctors, read medication instructions, navigate important forms, and advocate for yourself can make a real difference.

We’re proud to be a Member Agency of United Way of Greater Kingsport , working alongside other local organizations to strengthen our community and improve quality of life for the people we serve. ❤️

Your support of the United Way helps make this work possible.

Give local. Make an impact.

Literacy opens doors to opportunity. Whether it’s helping an adult improve their reading skills, learn English, fill out a job application, or gain the confidence to pursue a personal goal, literacy can have a lasting impact on financial stability.

As a Member Agency of United Way of Greater Kingsport , we’re proud to be part of a network of local organizations working together to create a stronger community and help people build better futures.

When you support the United Way, you’re supporting programs right here in our community, including the work we do at the Literacy Council of Kingsport. ❤️

📚 We’re excited to share that the Literacy Council of Kingsport has been awarded a Youth Literacy Grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation! 🎉

These funds will help support our Children’s Literacy Program by covering the cost of background checks for our volunteer tutors who work with children, as well as staff time needed to coordinate and run the program.

Our children’s tutors give their time each week to help K–3rd grade students build stronger reading skills, and this grant helps us make sure they have the support and resources they need to do that work.

A huge thank you to the Dollar General Literacy Foundation for investing in children’s literacy and helping us continue this important work in our community! ❤️📖
