is a Christian based non profit PATH member center offering Trauma-Informed Care Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies. Small Miracles has been serving the Kingsport community since 1995 and currently serves over 300 students per year in the upper Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia regions. Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) enhance the physical, emotional, social and cogni
tive growth of individuals with special needs through both mounted and unmounted experiences. Equine Assisted Personal Development (EAPD) programs are: Positive Youth Development for children & Youth At-Risk, and Horses Empower Heroes for Military Veterans and Families. These programs offer umounted equine assisted activities using experiential learning with the horse as a member of the teaching team. We provide students opportunities to be successful through creative activities that fully engage their bodies and minds and focus on the learning objectives and outcomes needed for each group or individual, whether the needs are physical, cognitive, behavioral, and/or emotional. Small Miracles is a United Way of Greater Kingsport Agency; offering evidence based EAAT programs; we collaborate with many area agencies, City & County Schools, Providence Academy, Frontier Health, Mountain Home VA and outpatient services. Small Miracles offers Internship & Service Learning opportunities for local community colleges, universities; plus community service Volunteer hours required for High School, Home School, & Middle School students for scholarship award programs cultivating work-readiness and servant leadership skills needed to be successful on the job or in the college environment.
