State of Franklin Track Club

State of Franklin Track Club Throughout the year, SFTC organizes several road races for all abilities and ages from one-mile races to 26.2 mile marathon distance.

The State of Franklin Track Club (SFTC) is dedicated to promoting distance running and fitness walking in the TriCities area of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. The club is also "available for hire" through its Race Management services to time and tabulate results; we are regularly hired to manage finish lines for races in the TriCities. Upcoming events can be posted for free on the web

site's Event Calendar; after the event, race results can also be submitted by any race organization for (free) publication.

Darcy’s personal fitness journey is nothing short of inspiring. Born with leaks in all of her heart valves, she didn't let that stop her from finding movement. With the green light from her cardiologist, she took up running and walking proving it is never too late to start. She is a firm believer that the best parts of SFTC are the friendships and the constant encouragement found on the trails.

A Lifetime of Leadership
While she is a new face in the area, Darcy is a veteran volunteer. Her history of service includes:

Youth Leadership: Former Cubmaster, Girl Scout leader, and Christmas play director.

Current Outreach: Horse leader at Small Miracles Therapeutic Riding Stables, Donate TN Ambassador, and volunteer at Shades of Grace and The Y.

Faith Community: OCIA mentor, youth group leader, and member of the Martha & Mary volunteer ministry.

Vision for the Board
As your Race Walker Representative, Darcy aims to bridge the gap between running and walking, ensuring that every member feels represented, encouraged, and supported. When she isn’t at a race or volunteering, she is likely spending time with her family—including her four grown children and 12 grandchildren.

"I love the encouragement and friendships formed from volunteering, walking, and running. I look forward to bringing that same spirit to the SFTC Board."

Let’s combine two of our greatest talents—running and eating!

Join us on Tuesday, May 5th for a Cinco de Mayo celebration at Warriors' Path State Park where we’ll answer the age-old question: Who is the fastest taco-powered runner in the Tri-Cities?

The challenge is a grueling (okay, not really) 2.5(ish) miles—four loops around Duck Island. Sounds easy, right? Not so fast… at the start of each loop, you must eat a taco. Yes, FOUR tacos. Back-to-back-to-back-to-back.

This is where strategy comes in:

Do you pace your tacos?
Do you sprint and risk a mid-run regret?
Do you question your life choices by loop three?
There’s only one way to find out.

Come test your speed, your stomach, and your dignity. Whether you’re chasing the title or just showing up for tacos and laughs, this is one fiesta you definitely don’t want to miss!

The SFTC Monthly Fun Run - Cinco de Mayo Taco Run is on Tuesday May 5, 2026.
