CFRS Meals on Wheels

CFRS Meals on Wheels CFRS Meals on Wheels services seniors in the northeast Tennessee communities of Colonial Heights, Fordtown, Rock Springs, and Sullivan Gardens.

Through the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of our supporters, we deliver nutritious meals and wellness checks to seniors and individuals who are homebound. We have over 150 volunteers who prepare and deliver home cooked meals to area seniors 5 days a week. Meals are prepared and picked up by drivers at Colonial Heights Baptist Church. Volunteers provide assistance in the kitchen, deliver the meals, and serve on the Board of Directors.

I'm sad to share the news that our friend Jo Ann Scott passed away May 31, 2026. Jo Ann was a volunteer who for many years came almost every day to help in the kitchen. Her expertise as a former chef at ETSU Food Service helped to train many a kitchen helper; she showed me how to properly use a knife, probably saving me from cuts and maybe even a lost finger!
CFRS extends our sympathy to her family for their loss.

A very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our Chef Emeritus, Joe Carder! Joe cooked for CFRS Meals On Wheels for many years, and now is serving as a member of our Board. Joe is still active in the kitchen, helping to plan and shop for meals, and working as a kitchen volunteer (and sub cook)!
