The new weather station at Bays Mountain Park & Planetarium is officially installed and running! Friends of Bays was delighted to provide funding for this.
The park is excited to have this free resource available for staff and visitors. You can check current conditions on the mountain by visiting the weather underground website, and clicking on the Bays Mountain Park Nature Center location in the Wundermap.

Sign up your kiddos for Halloween Yoga! While the yoga class is free, we are asking that you register so we make sure we have enough room for everyone. See you soon!

Bays Mountain Park & Planetarium is inviting families to celebrate Halloween morning with a healthy dose of movement, outdoor play and holiday fun.

Children ages 3 and up are invited to participate, and younger siblings are welcome to accompany them. While the program is free to attend, space is strictly limited to 20 children to ensure a quality experience for all participants. Registration is required in advance for headcount purposes.

Don't forget to join us for Park After Dark on October 24! 🎃

Come to Bays Mountain Park for a Halloween-themed night packed with spooky adventures, nighttime discoveries and plenty of family-friendly fun. Take a sunset barge ride across the lake, explore the stars during Starwatch, and experience a spectacular Halloween-themed laser show in the Planetarium. A food vendor will also be on-site serving up delicious refreshments for the whole family to enjoy.

Visit the animal habitats for a unique trick-or-treating experience with our animal ambassadors, then get creative by painting your own Halloween pumpkin to take home. Finally, gather at the wolf habitat to hear about wolf folklore, and end the night with a howl! With glowing stars, spooky sights, and plenty of Halloween surprises, there’s something for everyone to enjoy after dark at Bays Mountain!

Come in costume, bring your flashlight, and get ready for a night of Halloween fun in the great outdoors!

Don’t forget to sign up your kiddos for Halloween Yoga at Bays Mountain Park & Planetarium!

Bays Mountain Park Association and Bays Mountain Yoga Programs present Halloween Yoga for Kids at the Fox Den Playground!

This event will be held on October 31 at 10:30 a.m. Please join us for 15 minutes of yoga for kids, followed by fun, active time and imaginative play on the playground. We will conclude with a Halloween treat at approximately 11:15 a.m. Feel free to have your child dress in costume if they wish, provided they can move freely and play.

This is a free program (outside of parking for non-members), although registration is required for head count purposes. The program is available for kids 3 years old and up and younger children are welcome to accompany their older siblings. Parents, for your children’s safety, please plan to stay close by during the program. We hope you can join us!

Volunteer opportunities at Bays Mountain Park & Planetarium!

Fall is here, and we need your help preparing our animal habitats for winter! Join park staff for seasonal leaf removal around animal enclosures and viewing areas to help prevent moisture buildup, maintain safe walkways, and keep habitats clean and welcoming for park guests.

This is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, support our resident animals, and earn school volunteer hours! Rakes and gloves will be provided. Please bring water and wear long pants and closed-toed shoes.

So many fun things to do at Bays Mountain Park & Planetarium! Join in giving the animals some great enrichment!

Celebrate autumn by carving pumpkins! Work with rangers and animal care staff on carving pumpkins that will be used as enrichment for Bays Mountain Park’s resident animal ambassadors. After carving, watch as select animals explore, investigate, and enjoy these holiday enrichment items!

All tools and pumpkins are provided; just bring your creative side! This program is for all ages, but carving tools may not be given to younger participants. Limited to 10 participants.

Cost: $7 per person
