đź’™ **THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR WHITE ELEPHANT BINGO BENEFIT A SUCCESS!** đź’™

What a wonderful way to end the summer! The Thiokol Memorial Project sincerely thanks everyone who came out, played, laughed, enjoyed the prizes, and supported our White Elephant Bingo Benefit Fundraising Event! We were delighted to have you as our guests—and we hope you’ll come again! 🎉

This was our first time hosting White Elephant Bingo inside the Thiokol Memorial Museum, and it gave us a wonderful opportunity to showcase our new Museum Exhibit Upgrades while sharing a special musical debut—the newly released Elizabeth Cook Thiokol Tribute song, “Thiokol Tripwire.” 🎶

We were especially honored to welcome Mrs. Patricia Jenkins, a 1971 nurse at Gilman Hospital, who received a special preview of our new Compassion Exhibit. Mrs. Jenkins’ photograph is displayed among our Heroic First Responders, honoring those who courageously responded following the 1971 Thiokol tragedy.

We also welcomed **new guests who traveled from Florida** to join us for an evening of games, fun, fellowship, and prizes! We hope you enjoyed being our guests as much as we enjoyed having you with us. ❤️

A very special THANK YOU goes to our amazing TMP volunteer staff for helping host and make this event possible. We are especially grateful to Denise Kirtsey for coordinating the event and to every volunteer who gave their time and talents.

And thank you to the Tribune & Georgian Newspaper for helping share our event with the local community and encouraging everyone to come out and support TMP.

To our guests, volunteers, supporters, community partners, and friends:

THANK YOU, ONE AND ALL! 🙏🏾

Your support helps the Thiokol Memorial Project continue its mission of **Remembering, Honoring, and Educating** about the 30 Patriots of the Thiokol tragedy, the First Responders, and preserving their history for generations to come.

We hope to see you again at the Thiokol Memorial Museum!

đź’™ Remember. Honor. Educate.

Heroes Among Us! The Patty Parrish Story

Today, we extend our deepest gratitude to Ms. Patty Parrish for sharing her heartfelt recollections of February 3, 1971, when she served as a Medical Technician at Duval Medical Center during the emergency response to the tragic Thiokol Chemical Plant explosion in Woodbine, Georgia.

Patty's account is more than a historical remembrance—it is a deeply personal testimony of compassion, professionalism, and humanity in the face of unimaginable tragedy. As a member of the medical team that responded to the mass casualty emergency, she witnessed firsthand the courage of healthcare workers who answered the call without hesitation and the devastating impact the disaster had on so many lives.

Some stories can only be told by those who lived them. Patty's memories provide an invaluable perspective on a day that forever changed our community. More than five decades later, the experience remains with her, a reminder of the lives that were forever altered and the extraordinary dedication of those who cared for the injured and comforted the grieving.

On behalf of the Thiokol Memorial Project, Inc., thank you, Ms. Patty Parrish, for preserving this important chapter of history. Your willingness to share your story ensures that future generations will better understand not only the tragedy of February 3, 1971, but also the compassion, courage, and unwavering commitment of the medical professionals who responded that day.

Your voice is an important part of the Thiokol story, and we are honored to help preserve it.
