Great turnout for the EAA Chapter 439 First Annual Xmas Party! We had more Door Prizes than attendees, so EVERYONE left with a gift!

Thanks to many of our key chapter members for stepping up and making this inaugural event one to remember!!

We hade several “New” guests that were welcomed as well. We set the bar this year. Let’s see if we can take knowledge from this one and make next years even better!!

EAA Chapter 439 has put the Twenty Second Ford Airport Day in the books. Our Feature aircraft this year, EAA’s (Experimental Aircraft Association’s) Ford Trimotor was a great attraction, posting 6 Flights in 3 hours on Friday, and 13 Flights today, most with 8 passengers. Thanks go out to EAA for bringing this 96 year old airplane to our community for many to enjoy a ride (or shall we say a Flight) back in history.

Thanks are also extended to Vincent Quadroni and his A-26 WWII Bomber A-26 "Silver Dragon" which provided several flights including one flight for two of our car show entrants. Vince, his brother and his dad just returned from a very hot Texas on Friday after completing Type TRAINING to fly this rare old military bomber.

We can’t express our appreciation enough to our sponsors, our volunteers, and the public for coming out and making this event a success!!

The Ford Trimotor arrived just after lunch and in 3 hours flew 6 fully loaded passenger flights! It’s resting inside a hangar for the night (thanks Erica Sibley & Eric Sibley for bailing us out!!).

Weather tomorrow is looking good so come out for our 22nd Ford Airport Day and enjoy a great family oriented event! Get a ticket for a Trimotor ride that you will NEVER FORGET.

We’ve had a few more pilots step up for Young Eagle Flights so there are openings again on several time slots. Registration has been extended until 7 AM tomorrow.

We also have another pilot from outside our area that committed to fly tomorrow so we’ll have some slots available for walk ins!!

Update. Weather at Oshkosh is fog, predicted to start clearing off by around 9 AM. The Trimotor will take 2 hours to fly to Ford Airport so best case scenario is the plane arriving between 11 AM and Noon!!
