A small way to honor a great man 🤍

NEWS RELEASE

KHS scholarship, formerly Gibler Scholarship of Medicine, has been amended to honor the late Brendan Corsi.

Brendan Corsi peacefully passed away Wednesday, January 17th, 2024, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Brendan had a rare heart defect, Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome, that caused him to go into cardiac arrest. Brendan spent two weeks in the hospital on a ventilator but sustained substantial brain damage as he was without oxygen after the cardiac event.

During their time at the hospital, the family formed relationships with numerous nurses assigned to Brendan’s case. The nurses did everything in their power to allow his family to remain by his side until his last breath.

Brendan was a giver. He did everything he could to ensure the people around him were cared for, even if he had to go without.

The Gibler Family Foundation is renaming the Gibler Scholarship of Medicine to Brendan Corsi Memorial Scholarship to remember Brendan and allow him to continue giving. The first Brendan Corsi Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior in the class of 2024 pursuing a degree in the medical field.
