A multimedia project of chef/activist Beto Rincón that promotes local food access and celebrates food traditions in South Central TX as a 3rd generation Tejano. Today marks the launch of the page for the Que Bonito Project!! The Que Bonito Project (QBP) is a community food project that tries to connect people in the South Central Texas region with the food system around them both in a l
ocal and global sense. We hope to do this through the sharing of happenings around our family's farm, articles on topics we find interesting, announcements of events we hope to host someday in the near future and more. The Que Bonita Project is rooted in the Casa Blanca Farm of the Rincon Family(founded in 1943) in South Central Texas,The Que Bonito Project will work to feature ideas pertaining to food systems, food production, food preparation, sustainability, and agriculture taking place around the United States and the World. In addition, look for us to announce local events taking place which we will be hosting and/or sponsoring. The name "Que Bonito" is to serve as a homage to Maria Rincon, my late grandmother who throughout her life lived full of eternal optimism until her very last days. While this page will be a continuous work in progress, we hope you all will find something of interest to you, perhaps something that will provoke you to say, "ah, que bonito." If so, we hope to serve as a source of discussion and conversation around a variety of topics around food and sustainability. With the Que Bonito Project, we have some big dreams in the years ahead but for now, this page shall serve as a glimpse into the project. Be on the look out for a blog, news articles, perhaps even a website someday!!
