It’s Dog Bite Prevention Week (April 12–18)! 🐾
This week is all about understanding dogs and creating safer interactions—for both people and pets.
Any dog has the potential to bite—regardless of size, age, or s*x. Even the most gentle, fluffy, and affectionate dog may bite if it feels scared, overwhelmed, or provoked. It’s important to remember that biting is not a breed trait—it’s an individual behavior shaped by a dog’s unique history, experiences, training, and environment.
The good news? Most dog bites are preventable. With awareness, education, and a little extra care, we can help keep both people and pets safe. 💛
Stay tuned for more throughout the week as we focus on reading dog behavior, teaching children how to interact safely, respecting a dog’s space, and more…
