KRMC Volunteers

KRMC Volunteers For more than 50 years, volunteers have donated their time, money, and energy to make KRMC a better place.

Volunteer Services was established on May 7, 1962 by Helen Graves as an auxiliary to support the services available at KRMC. Due to the enormous value added by volunteers to the hospital, the auxiliary was dissolved in 2014 and Volunteer Services became a department of KRMC. Volunteer Services continues to grow and support the hospital as it continues to grow and provide services to our community.

KRMC volunteers provide a wide range of patient support that cannot be matched! Some of the areas include:
• Greeting and escorting patients, visitors, and guests
• Delivering flowers and mail to patients
• Operating the Gift Shop
• Assisting with the discharge of patients
• Driving the courtesy cart
• Liaison for the Emergency, Surgery, and other departments
• Coordinating quarterly blood drives

We are thrilled to share that the KRMC Volunteers have been awarded Organization of the Year at the 2024 Andy Awards!

For 62 years, our volunteers have been an essential part of community care. They have dedicated thousands of hours to supporting patients, families, and staff. Their roles include escorting visitors, reading to hospice patients, organizing blood drives, and assisting with various hospital functions. Currently, 160 volunteers are serving, and their commitment extends beyond the hospital to city events, community cleanups, and wellness fairs. Over the past 50 years, KRMC volunteers have raised over $540,000 for scholarships supporting healthcare students, ensuring the future of quality care. Their dedication and compassion continue to enrich the community and improve countless lives.

We would also like to express our gratitude to the other candidates for the organization of the year for their valuable contributions to our community, including The Kingman Moose Lodge and Soroptimist International of Kingman.
