Mission Moment Monday:

Today is World Rainforest Day, a reminder that every habitat — whether it’s a vast rainforest or a quiet neighborhood in Stokes County — deserves protection, care, and thoughtful stewardship.

At Habitat, we talk a lot about building homes, but we’re also building something bigger: a community that values sustainability, responsibility, and the world our families will inherit. Every time we reuse materials, donate gently loved items to the ReStore, reduce waste on our build sites, or choose practices that respect our environment, we’re doing more than constructing walls — we’re caring for the place we all call home.

Rainforests thrive because every tree, every root system, every drop of rain plays a part. Our mission thrives the same way. Volunteers, donors, partner families, staff, and neighbors each contribute something essential. Together, we create a stronger, healthier habitat for the people who live here now and for the generations who will follow.

Strong homes start with thoughtful stewardship — of our resources, our community, and our shared world.

The FIFA World Cup isn’t the only thing happening around the globe — Habitat is, too!

While teams are scoring goals on the field, Habitat teams are scoring life‑changing goals in communities worldwide.
From Stokes County to every corner of the map, volunteers and families are working together to build strength, stability, and a place to call home.

Different countries. Different cultures.
Same mission: building a better world, one home at a time.

So as you cheer on your favorite team, know this: Habitat is out there every day, making sure families everywhere get their shot at a brighter future.

Belated birthday wishes to our Board Member, Scott Tedder! 🎉

Some secrets are good to keep, but celebrating Scott is definitely not one of them! Somehow, this special date slipped past us, but we’re making up for lost time.

From now on, we may just have to take out an ad in the Stokes News every year to make sure everyone knows how much we appreciate him! 😊

Happy Belated Birthday, Scott! Thank you for your servant’s heart, your dedication to Habitat for Humanity of Stokes County, and your commitment to making our affiliate and our entire community stronger. We are grateful for all you do and proud to have you as part of the Habitat Stokes family!

~Mission Moment Monday~

Last week was full of big accomplishments, but today we’re celebrating something just as important — the steady, everyday progress that keeps Habitat Stokes moving forward.

Behind every closing, every repair, and every revitalization project are dozens of small steps that happen quietly throughout the week. Phone calls, planning meetings, volunteer coordination, paperwork, walk‑throughs, conversations with families — all the pieces that keep the momentum going even when nothing “big” is happening on camera.

And woven into all of that are the tasks that keep us moving toward what’s next: scheduling upcoming builds, preparing for community events, organizing materials, and getting ready for the meetings that help shape the weeks ahead. These are the moments that don’t always make a headline, but they keep everything on track.

Progress doesn’t always look like a ribbon‑cutting.
Sometimes it looks like a Monday afternoon phone call, a form being signed, a calendar filling with next steps, or a volunteer showing up ready to help.

Every one of those moments matters, and they’re all part of building something stronger for Stokes County.

✨ Thankful Thursday ✨
Yesterday was filled with celebration, gratitude, and the joy of seeing dreams become reality!
Our Family Services Director, Rachael Butts, had the honor of celebrating her first two closings, and we are thrilled to share that Aaron Mitchell and Chasity Mitchell are officially homeowners! 🎉🔑
A huge thank you to Bennett and West, Attorneys, for their support and partnership in making this closing possible.
We are so grateful for our families, volunteers, partners, and community who continue to help make homeownership dreams come true!

🏡 A Day of Celebration & Hope! ❤️
On June 6th, Habitat for Humanity of Stokes County celebrated a very special Home Dedication Ceremony — marking the completion of the first two of five homes being built in the Walnut Tree Community! 🎉
This moment represents so much more than a house — it represents hope, hard work, dedication, and the power of community coming together.
We are incredibly thankful for our amazing Board of Directors, community partners, local businesses, donors, work family, volunteers, and partner families who have poured their time, talent, and hearts into making this dream a reality.
Every nail, every hour, and every helping hand has helped build not just homes, but a stronger community. ❤️🔨
Congratulations to our partner families — we are honored to walk alongside you on this journey!
Together, we are building homes, communities, and hope. 🏡✨

June is National Homeownership Month, and there’s no better way to celebrate than by watching our Stokes County homebuyers build their own futures — literally.
From swinging hammers to learning new skills, these families are investing sweat equity, hope, and heart into the homes they’ll soon own.
Thank you to everyone who supports this mission. You’re helping make moments like these possible.
These are a few of our favorite moments celebrating our future homeowners.

Mission Moment Monday: Let’s Celebrate & Serve!

Big things are happening this Saturday, June 6th at 9 AM! We’re dedicating the first two Habitat homes in the Walnut Tree community—an incredible milestone made possible by partnership, perseverance, and heart.

And the celebration doesn’t stop there! After the dedications, join us for our Neighborhood Clean‑Up Day. It’s a hands‑on way to give back and help our county shine!

Volunteers and guests will enjoy a hotdog lunch as we wrap up the day!

Let’s make this Saturday one to remember
