King of Prussia Rotarians Connect with Community at Bridgeport Boro's National Night Out

King of Prussia Rotarians enjoyed a great evening of community connection at Borough of Bridgeport Police Department / Borough of Bridgeport ’s National Night Out on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

Rotarians welcomed residents, community leaders, and local business representatives to their table, sharing information about what Rotary does, the benefits of becoming a Rotarian, and the many ways members serve and support their communities. The group also promoted the King of Prussia Rotary Club’s upcoming Annual King of Prussia Rotary Pancake Breakfast!

And, of course, our table at a community event wouldn’t be complete without a little fun! Rotarians handed out more than 200 bags of freshly popped popcorn to attendees throughout the evening. We are also quite positive the wildlife enjoyed the leftovers that didn’t make it into bags.

Club President Deb also took the opportunity to visit many of the other vendors, meeting their representatives and learning more about their businesses and the services they provide to the community.

It was a wonderful evening of fellowship, outreach, and community engagement—and another great example of Rotary’s commitment to Service Above Self. Thank you to those who assisted us at our table at this event.

Today, the Rotary Club of King of Prussia was honored to welcome Rotary 7450 Governor Carol Lerner of the Northeast Philadelphia Cheltenham Rockledge Rotary Club for her official club visit.

DG Carol shared her inspiring Rotary journey, from becoming a member to immediately embracing leadership and service. Additionally, she outlined her vision and goals for the 2026–2027 Rotary year. She emphasized three guiding themes that will shape her year as District Governor: Family, Peace, and Fun, reminding us that Rotary is at its best when we strengthen relationships, serve our communities, focus on peace, and enjoy the fellowship that brings us together.

We were also especially grateful that DG Carol took time to recognize three of our own King of Prussia Rotarians as People of Action for their outstanding commitment to Service Above Self. Stay tuned for another post as we proudly recognize these deserving recipients!

Thank you, DG Carol, for spending the afternoon with our club, sharing your passion for Rotary, and inspiring us with your vision for District 7450. We look forward to partnering with you throughout the year as we continue Connecting Leaders, Serving Communities, and Changing Lives.

Want to be a doer with us? Want to network with 1.2 million people world wide? Take action by being people of action.

Message us to see how Rotary fits into your world.

August is membership and club development month. It is a time to focus on and appreciate your members, celebrate their devotion to the club and the impact they have made. It's also a time to think about developing strategies around growing your membership. The reason why Rotary is such a successful organization is because it is full of members that have one trait in common - the passion to make a difference in the world. All of us share this passion and it's what drives us to work together.

Last night we held our annual President's Picnic. It is a traditional event for fellowship and fun where we recognize and thank Rotarians and community members for their dedication and support over the past Rotary year.

We also have two club awards that are given to a Rotarian or a member of our community for their outstanding contributions in service. Those awards are:

The Carl A. Beck Award and the Paul A. Vaughn Award.

The Carl A. Beck award is presented to an individual who exhibits outstanding vocational and labor relations as a professional in the local community, exemplifying Rotary’s ideals. Two of our Rotarians, Brenda Shepperd and Heather Melck, we're recipients of this award.

The Paul A Vaughn award is presented annually to one individual in recognition of significant and extended contributions to the local community, rendered in a manner that exemplifies Rotary's Four-Way test. The recipient of this award was PDG Kevin Katarynick.

Congratulations to are award recipients and to those Rotarians who had their service anniversaries recognized at this year's picnic.

Thank you Conshohocken Brewing Company KoP Taproom for hosting our event this year.
