🏴☠️ RAIDER NATION – MEET YOUR 2026 12U HEAD COACH! 🏈
The King William Raiders are proud to announce Coach Howard S. Brown Jr. as the 2026 12U Head Football Coach!
Coach Brown is a proud King William High School graduate (Class of 1983) and a true part of the Raider tradition. In fact, he was a member of the very first King William Raiders coaching staff when the program began. His son Torrey, now 43, played on the organization’s first-ever flag football team, making Coach Brown’s connection to Raider football run deep.
Coach Brown brings an incredible 40 years of coaching experience to the Raiders organization. Throughout his career he has coached at several schools across the region including:
• King William High School
• King & Queen High School – Former Head Football Coach and current Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach
• West Point High School – Offensive Coordinator
• Mathews High School – Boys Basketball Coach
• Henrico High School
As a player, Coach Brown competed at King William High School from 1978–1983, where he played under the legendary Coach Roger Brookes.
For Coach Brown, working with young athletes has always been about the joy of the game.
He loves seeing the excitement on kids’ faces when everything finally comes together, and he believes youth sports should be a positive experience for everyone involved.
His coaching philosophy is simple:
⭐ Create an enjoyable experience for every player while helping them grow through the game.
Away from the field, Coach Brown is an avid motorcycle rider and proudly owns three motorcycles.
Coach Brown is married to Casia Billups Brown, and together they have a large and loving family with six children and seven grandchildren.
A quote that reflects his belief in coaching and mentorship:
💬 “All kids need is a little help, a little hope, and somebody who believes in them.”
