Greetings and salutations to all. Currently I have 597 followers, just 3 away from a good even number. Maybe those 3 will be found today.
I have three chairs woven for the order of seven chairs for the Dobbin House Restaurant and Tavern in Gettysburg Pa.
I am located in King George Va and am willing to teach you this skill. It’s all in the understanding of following a pattern and using your two hands.

50 years ago this month (21 July 1976) I stepped onto a Trailways Bus in Ellaville Ga for the trip to MEPS Atlanta Ga. Every job that I had afterwards was due to being a Navy Radioman. Professional Naval Communicator.

Our recent trip to Elkton Oh and Gettysburg Pa was a good one. I was able to give out several handmade and handwoven coasters. I gave away more than I sold but that’s not a problem , just please look the County Weaver up on Facebook and even more enjoy them daily use. I recommend that you write the year that you received it. They make great gifts for those people who could use them.

This is a Clore rocking chair and is still available.
Some rungs have been replaced and glued again. As you can see it doesn’t have a seat yet. A rush bottom, flat reed in a herringbone weave pattern or a wide binding seat can be woven.

If you are looking for perfection, it’s not here. Each one has its own issues, but this is my best effort. They are woven tight so it will feel like they are sitting on a rock. After being used at the table for a few good meals they will get broken in. The final touch was a coat of amber shellac that will extend the life of the seats.
The type of weave is “fiber rush”.
These will last for another 20+ years. Just keep the cats away.
