Congratulations to the 2026 recipients of the Karen Wallace Friedman Memorial Scholarship presented at the King George High School Senior Awards Night.

This year, a total of $8,500 in scholarships was awarded to four outstanding students as they continue their academic journeys:

• Juliana Slavin – Regent University – Biophysical Sciences with a Biomedical Concentration
• Callista Rash – Elon University – Biology
• Cooper Sobota – James Madison University – Biology with a concentration in Ecology and Environmental Biology
• Emma Lewis – Coastal Carolina University – Marine Science and Sustainability

We are proud to support these incredible students and honored to continue Karen’s legacy through education, service, and opportunity. Congratulations and best of luck in this next chapter.

These funds will support the University of Virginia Breast Care Center’s AI-CEM study, helping advance more personalized breast cancer detection and care, as well as the Karen Wallace Friedman Memorial Scholarship.
