So very proud of all the members of our CTSOs! Way to go KGHS!! 🦊🦊

Students from King George High School Career and Technical Education Student Organizations were recognized at this week’s School Board meeting for their outstanding achievements!

Students earned top honors in multiple regional and state competitions, with several advancing to the national level. We are proud of their hard work and the way they represent King George County Schools so well!

The KGHS FBLA members amazed me once again at our Regional Competition/Conference on February 19th! First off, even though we are the smallest school in the FBLA Germanna Region, we had more members present than any other school - 29 in total. And then came the awards ceremony - these students had me in tears of joy! Forty-two students competing in 33 different categories! It was the 1st time for many competing but they were all phenomenal! Overall, 18 medals for the KGHS Team and all qualified for State Competition in April.

Regardless of whether they won a medal or not, all that competed are extraordinary to me! The competition was tough but we took the most medals home out of all the schools present. I am so very proud of all of them and their hard work! Please join me in congratulating them! Additionally, thank you to everyone that supported our team for this competition. Special thanks to our parent chaperones - Mrs. Smolnik, Mr. Hamilton and Mrs. Robinson - we couldn't have done this without you! On to State Competition in April!

Great time by all at the FBLA Fall Leadership Conference held September 25-26 in VA Beach! We all learned so much about being a strong leader and model for other members. Our members loved participating in numerous great team building activities. Thank you King George for your support of KGHS FBLA!

KGHS FBLA made it back home this evening safe and sound! While we didn't bring home any trophies, I can't begin to express how proud I am of all of them! It was a tough competition but as I told the students, they are all winners to me! Just to be allowed to compete at this National Competition, they had to be in the Top 75 in their category. That says a lot when there were 14,000+ students there in attendance! Nonetheless, we met a lot of great people, made some lasting friendships and enjoyed a week full of other fun events. Thank you for all that supported us, sent encouraging messages and wished us safe travels! We couldn't have gotten this far without you all! We will be back next year!

We are in the final week of our fundraiser! On June 28th, we are off to Anaheim, CA! The 5 KGHS FBLA members featured in the photos have qualified to compete at the National Competition and Conference! What an accomplishment for our KGHS students! Thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout the year!

What a year KGHS FBLA has had! From 10 medals at Regional Competition to 5 trophies won at State Competition! And now we are on to National Competition in Anaheim CA! These student members worked hard this year and we are all proud of each of them! But we need your help! Please consider helping us cover the trip cost to State Competition by donating here.
