Community Pathways to Grocery Careers (CPGC) is a two-week, in-person pre-employment training program designed specifically for Veterans and military families — and applications are NOW OPEN!

🗓 April 6–17, 2026
⏰ Monday–Friday | 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
📍 40 hours of in-person training

Here’s what you’ll get:
✅ $30 per class stipend (up to $300)
✅ $300 job placement bonus
✅ WA State Food Handler’s Permit
✅ Interview skills workshop
✅ Resume & job placement support
✅ Direct pathways into union grocery careers

On Presidents Day, we’re reflecting not just on leadership at the top — but on the power of people at every level.

The progress of this country has always been driven by workers: organizers who fought for fair wages, communities who demanded safe working conditions, and everyday people who believed opportunity should be accessible to all.

For those of us in workforce development, this day is a reminder that economic mobility doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when we invest in skills, remove barriers, expand access, and stand alongside workers as they build better futures for themselves and their families.

Strong communities are built by strong workforces. And strong workforces are built through partnership, persistence, and purpose.

Today, we’re grateful for everyone committed to advancing opportunity, equity, and dignity in work. The mission continues — and so does the impact.

Returning to our work after the MLK holiday is an opportunity to reflect on Dr. King’s powerful commitment to the working class. He believed deeply that “all labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance” and that work done in service to others carries real worth.

As we step back into our routines, may we approach our work—whatever it may be—with excellence, purpose, and the understanding that meaningful change is built through everyday effort.
