Since our much needed rainfall recently, the burn ban for unincorporated Calhoun County has been lifted.

If you plan to burn, be sure to check conditions before starting, never leave any fire unattended, and have tools and water available to extinguish if necessary.

As a reminder, some burning, like large piles more than 8’ across and broadcast burning, require a permit from the Florida Forest Service.

🚫 BURN BAN REMAINS IN EFFECT – CALHOUN COUNTY 🚫

This is a reminder that Calhoun County is STILL under a burn ban. No outdoor burning is allowed at this time.

🔥 PLEASE DO NOT BURN — especially tomorrow.
Forecast conditions show dry air and elevated winds, which means fires can spread extremely fast and out of control.

⚠️ Even a small debris pile or controlled burn could quickly turn into:
• A fast-moving wildfire
• Threats to homes, property, and lives
• Dangerous situations for our already stretched first responders

Tomorrow’s conditions create the perfect setup for catastrophic fire behavior — once it gets going, it may not be able to be stopped quickly.

🚒 Protect our community. Protect our firefighters. Protect your neighbors.

✔️ No yard burning
✔️ No trash burning
✔️ No campfires

Let’s all do our part until conditions improve and the ban is lifted.

👉 Please share to help spread the word.
