Killeen Heights Rotary The members of the Rotary Club of Killeen Heights have an obligation as good citizens to serve the community in which we live.

Working together, we believe we can have an enormously positive impact on the quality of life for many Central Texans who are in need or faced with unexpected misfortune. The Rotary Club of Killeen Heights annually undertakes a well-rounded program of activities in support of the Family of Rotary and within each of Rotary's Five Avenues of Service in order to Share Rotary in our club, our communit

y, our vocations, and our world. We focus our resources - time, talents and finances - on reducing the mortality rate of children by supporting water, literacy, health and hunger programs; impacting fewer projects/agencies but with greater support to enable real change in these areas of need. Our membership represents a cross-section of the community's business and professional men and women. We are non-political, non-religious, non-governmental and open to all cultures, races, and creeds.

Pinkies up, Rotary.

We traded the 6:30 a.m. meeting room for a long table at The Ruby Tea Room in Belton, and it turns out this club is pretty good at fellowship over a proper pot of tea. Teacups, good company and zero agenda items.

Turns out peppers grow better when Rotarians show up.

Our crew put in a morning at the Food Care Center, pulling weeds, harvesting the garden beds and restocking shelves inside. Everything we picked went straight to neighbors who needed it.

One pole, a whole lot of languages and one very good supervisor.

Our crew spent Saturday morning in Gatesville setting a Peace Pole, anchoring a new bench and adding seating out at the courts. May Peace Prevail On Earth, written in every language we could fit.

Thanks to everybody who showed up with a shovel, a level and a little sweat. That's Rotary at work.
