Today marks an exciting milestone as we kick off our FIRST Career Skills Program (CSP) briefing at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER)! 🇺🇸

We’re excited to introduce transitioning service members to the incredible career opportunities available through the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America!

The United Brotherhood of Carpenters is built around helping members succeed for the long haul. That means world-class training, opportunities to keep developing your skills and union representation throughout your career.

Through the UBC Military Veterans Program, transitioning service members can start that journey with eight weeks of free, hands-on training, followed by direct entry and one year of credit into a UBC apprenticeship.

The United Brotherhood of Carpenters (UBC) Military Veterans Program (MVP) is seeking a motivated, mission-driven recruiter to support our operations on Oahu.

MVP provides transitioning service members and veterans with tuition-free, hands-on training and a direct pathway into registered apprenticeships in the skilled construction trades.

This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact by helping those who served transition into rewarding civilian careers.

Key Responsibilities

* Build relationships with military installations, including Schofield Barracks, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, and Marine Corps Base Hawaii.
* Conduct SkillBridge/CSP briefings, attend career fairs, and coordinate military outreach.
* Recruit and guide applicants through enrollment and command approval.
* Partner with union representatives, contractors, and workforce agencies to support graduate employment.
* Attend graduations and assist veterans transitioning into apprenticeships.
* Track recruitment, graduate placement, and career progression.
* Support marketing, community partnerships, and program development.

Qualifications

* Military experience or strong knowledge of military culture and transition programs.
* 2–3 years of recruiting, workforce development, or related experience.
* Familiarity with union trades and apprenticeship programs.
* Strong communication, public-speaking, and organizational skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and social media platforms.

Preferred: Prior military service, familiarity with DoD SkillBridge/CSP, union experience, and knowledge of Hawaii’s military installations.

Congratulations to Cohort 44 UBC MVP - Military Veteran Program at our Fort Hood, Texas Location.

Graduating 7 in total with 5 Millwrights and 2 Carpenters. One Graduate will transition to Georgia while the remaining graduates plan to stay in various locations in Texas from Killeen, Austin, Waco, Georgetown, New Braunfels, and Houston. All of the Graduates will have direct entry into the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America.

From early in their military careers, service members are trusted with serious responsibilities—leading teams, operating critical equipment, solving problems under pressure and getting the job done when others are counting on them.

That mindset carries into the skilled trades.

Union jobsites need people who show up prepared, take ownership of their work, look out for their crew and understand that every task contributes to something bigger. Congratulations to Cohort 26 of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America UBC MVP - Military Veteran Program at our Fort Campbell, Clarksville, Tennessee location.

These graduates have completed their training and are ready to take the next step in their civilian careers as skilled trades professionals. Their next destinations include Tennessee, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and California.

Through the UBC MVP, transitioning service members and veterans gain hands-on and classroom training that prepares them for rewarding careers in the construction industry.
