Patrick Raglin , Joe Luna , and Rick Mitchell made a Kap(SS)4Kid(SS) visit yesterday to McClanes Children's medical center. Got to visit with a bunch of kids and their families making them all Honorary Submariners and of course they got the goods. Balls Caps, Certs, Coloring Books, Teddy Bears and Challenge coins. Always very humbling and a privilege to visit these fighters. Thank You to the staff for facilitating our visit.

Don't be a Gracie!

Gracie has been found! According to sources, after finding Gracie and hearing from various Giraffe experts it was determined that Gracie's escape was because she heard the coolest people in the world (Submarine Veterans) were gathering in Corpus this September, so she escaped to start making her way there. Unfortunately, since she has been caught, Gracie will be unable to attend this year's convention. Last Saturday we held our Quarterly social at Berry Springs Park. Had a great time even though some of our regulars were missing. Some under the weather, some other commitments, and maybe even some gone to get married up in the PNW. As always, the food was good and company better. We got to see 2 more shipmates inducted into the Holland Club, Jim Bowles who qualified onboard the USS Henry L. Stimson (SSBN-655) and Joe Keller onboard USS Tecumseh (SSBN-628), both in 1976. Next up is our 4th of July parade in Round Rock, Texas.

*Footnote: after getting home later in the day the author was contacted by one of the attendees who thanked him for continuing to ping on him to attend. Said he gets tied up in his work and didn't get out much by choice. Said he really enjoyed being out with others with no agenda and just enjoying each other's company and sharing stories.

HOLLAND CLUB LUNCHEON - FAQ's

What is it? - An event to Honor our Holland Club Members. Our current Chairman is Jim Irwin

Who can go? - Everyone is invited and encouraged to come and honor our Holland Club Members. This is not just for HC Members.

What's special about this year's event?
- We have special speakers planned to present including WWII Submarine Veteran Bill Dillon who qualified onboard the USS Sailfish in 1943 along with author Stephen L. Moore.
-We may have some really special Holland Club inductions.
-We will have past National HC Chairman FLTCM(SS) Frank Lister in the house!
-The food will be excellent!
-It's a lunch so you don't have to get up early!

When is it?
-Wednesday Sept 9th, 2026.

What if I registered and didn't sign up?
-Just contact the convention chairman and let him know. We will add you to the list and make payment arrangements that suit you.

Here's a few pics from our group last Friday at the Dell Diamond Stadium---RoundRock, TX . Had guys there there have been qualified for at least 66 years and some that earned their dolphins just a few years ago (2022) on one of the newest boats in the fleet. Had a couple of new faces and some that have already sent in their apps and joined us. Welcome Aboard Terry!
