Drew, one of our gardeners, met a local citizen at our garden on the corner of Atkinson & 18th St.

Meet “Lady,” the Tramp Snail (Bradybaena similaris).

Habitat: Gardens, mulch beds, leaf litter, and other moist, sheltered environments.
Ecological significance: Asian tramp snails are introduced to Texas and can feed on tender garden plants, seedlings, and decaying vegetation.

Today at KC’s Upcycle Art, the clubhouse was really clubhouse-ing💛🎨♻️

There were a lot of different faces in the room… some new faces, some familiar faces, and some people we haven’t seen in a while and have definitely been missed.

There were conversations happening, people vibing, laughing, creating, and just enjoying being around each other. And of course, turning things that might’ve been thrown away into something new♻️✨

That’s what makes days like this so special. It’s not just about the art. It’s about being together, catching up, meeting new people, and feeling comfortable enough to just be yourself.

No big plan needed. Just come in, make something, have a conversation, vibe for a while, and enjoy our clubhouse. 🏡💛

Yesterday, we had a wonderful time in our Therapeutic Art Journaling class exploring a lesson called the Calmness Collage. We took a few deep breaths, perused magazines, and cut out pictures and words to create a visual reminder of what truly soothes us.
If you've been curious about joining or are new to the area, we would love to have you! You don't need to be an artist or an expert just bring a willingness to try something new and connect with others.
• When: Every Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM
• Where: Killeen Creators- 701 N 10th ST Killeen Tx 76541
• The Vibe: A safe, judgment-free space focused on the creative process and relaxation and so much more 🤗

🎨✨ **A little studio recap of this week! **

Tuesday, our Americorps member Vivian led us through Paint Pouring, where everyone chose their colors, experimented with layered pours, and created something completely their own. Using blow dryers, straws, and airflow, everyone let the paint move freely and created their own masterpiece
Wednesday we turned everyday items into upcycled art, proving you really can make something beautiful from nothing.

Today for Splatter Painting, we asked: “If your emotions were rain, what would they look like?”

And honestly, that’s what this place has become: a clubhouse. A space where people connect, create, laugh, and walk through the doors feeling a little more at home.

Sometimes you find a place you didn’t know you needed. 💚
