🌱 Our community garden is thriving, and there’s so much growing to celebrate!

🌱 We’re currently growing Mad Hatter & cayenne peppers and Armenian cucumbers with more veggies on the way!

🌱 A special thank you to our volunteers and AmeriCorps members who help keep everything watered and thriving. 💚

🌱 Today they planted bush beans, squash, radish, and added grass-clipping mulch to protect new seeds.

Today’s Art Journaling prompt was One-Word Inspirations.

We had a full class today, with many people meeting for the first time. Yet somehow, as everyone created from their own experiences, similar themes began showing up across the pages.

Different words. Different stories. Shared humanity.

A beautiful reminder that we’re often walking through more of the same things than we realize.
Thank you to everyone who showed up, trusted the process, and shared space with one another.

✨ From Paint Pouring to Upcycled Masterpieces! ✨

One of the most exciting parts of our creative journey is seeing what happens after the paint dries.

Many participants start by creating beautiful abstract paint-poured canvases then bring them back to our Upcycle Art sessions where they transform them into something completely new and uniquely their own. 🌟

🎨 Paint Pouring gives the canvas its story.
♻️ Upcycle Art adds the next chapter.

Today we had people from beginner to advanced levels. Every class they create something different, and today they all made these universal tablet sleeve or notebook holders.

Check out our 10th Street yard long beans 😲 They are growing so good!

Today was all about w**ding with the community at our 10th Street Garden!

Weeding does more than make it look tidy—it can significantly improve the health and productivity of your plants. Every w**d you remove is giving your plants more space, water, sunlight, and nutrients to thrive.

The best time to w**d is after rain or watering when the soil is moist and roots come out more easily.

Regular short w**ding sessions (10–15
minutes) are usually more effective than waiting until w**ds become established. So catch them early!

Another day of Upcycle Art at KC

One thing I love about this class is the reminder that not everything has to be finished in one sitting. Sometimes creativity needs a little more time. The good news? Your project will be here waiting for you when you’re ready to come back.

Maybe there’s a lesson in that.

Not everything beautiful happens all at once. 🌱

Sometimes you just keep showing up, adding one piece at a time, and before you know it, you’ve created something you didn’t even know was possible.

Today’s Art Journaling prompt was Patience

Not exactly the easiest thing to practice when we want healing, growth, answers, and change yesterday 😂
We painted our pages one section at a time, each space representing different parts of life. Some came out just how we imagined. Some didn’t. Sound familiar?

A good reminder that not everything blooms on our schedule.

Sometimes the work is simply showing up, doing your best, and trusting that what’s meant to grow is already growing. 🌱

One box. One brushstroke. One day at a time.

Our Founder, Kristin Wright, will be leading our Therapeutic Art Journaling session from 1-3 today, June 9th, at our Studio located at 701 N 10th Street in Killeen.

The focus of the session will be on developing PATIENCE - for ourselves, others and the challenges of life - through exploration of water, pigment, and patterns and more. No art experience required! 🎨🖌🤩
