Surfrider Foundation is proud to support our friends as they recruit lifeguards for the Town of Duck’s 2026 summer season.

At Surfrider, we believe beach access means more than simply reaching the shoreline — it means helping create a coast that people can safely enjoy and connect with. Lifeguards play an important role in making that possible every day on the Outer Banks.

Outer Banks Water Safety is currently hiring for the 2026 season.
No prior experience is required, and all training is provided. The next training session begins in June.

If you care about the ocean, public safety, and serving the local community, consider joining the team this summer.

Apply now! Head over to their socials to learn more!

2026 Dare Nights Announced!!!
The Lost Colony’s Dare Nights To Be Held June 4 & June 5, 2026

The Roanoke Island Historical Association (RIHA) is proud to announce that the popular Dare Nights for the 89th Season of The Lost Colony, will be held June 4th and June 5th, 2026.

Sponsored by Midgett Insurance, Dare Nights, which historically have been performances that Outer Banks locals may attend for free, with donations to local food pantries. Make plans to arrive early to drop off donation items and receive your free tickets.

“A couple of years ago, we moved all the Dare Night performances into the first two preview instead of spreading them out across June. The big crowds for the first two shows really makes the beginning of the season special. We hope everyone will join us for these special nights,”-Chuck Still, Executive Director.
