Lynette founded FCA at Perquimans High, led the weekly huddle, organized Fields of Faith and brought 30 kids to FCA Leadership Camp each year. We love Lynette and we are not alone. Her obituary shows why. Scott is slated to speak at the funeral, tomorrow at 4 pm in the Perquimans High School Gymnasium. She is easy to celabrate. Lives are eternally different because of Lynette. What a legacy.

It is with great sorrow that we share that Lynette Baker has gone home to be with the Lord. To know Lynette was to love her and be loved by her. Encouraging. Fun. Full of life. She was the kind of teacher that opened her classroom at lunch and kids would choose to spend their time with her. She led FCA at Perquimans High and year after year would bring 30 kids to camp. She loves the Lord and she is rejoicing with Him now. She leaves behind her husband and 2 children. We love you Lynette! To be sure, when she entered the gates of Heaven, she heard, "well done good and faithful servant."

We pour into our leaders to help them grow, so they feel equipped and empowered to be successful.

Do you know Emilie? She is everywhere! From overseeing the middle and high school FCA Huddles at Manteo and First Flight, to coaching swim and volleyball, to starting multiple FCA Huddles in GO FAR (local children’s running club) and youth baseball. She’s also building a relationship with the new summer collegiate baseball team, the Swinging Mullets, AND developing and directing the first ever FCA Youth Baseball Power Camp in the Outer Banks this summer. Were you a confident, got-it-all-together middle schooler? Did you love public speaking? For most, it's a hard "no." This 7th grader delivered his first ever pre-meet devotional to his track team. FCA methodically develops leaders and it takes time. We ENGAGE athletes by building a relationship with them. We EQUIP them by teaching them how to study and apply Scripture verse by verse, how to share their faith and leadership skill training. And we EMPOWER them by giving them opportunities and standing by their side as they take the reins. Here, this middle schooler shared from Romans 12, "And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith." He shared how that verse has impacted him, he encouraged his teammates for the meet, then led them in prayer. He was nervous but did a great job! FCA Dodgeball Night at FFMS was resurrected last night. The winning kids team played the coach/teacher team for the championship. SO FUN! Josh, the youth minister from , shared his testimony of hearing about Jesus at FCA Dodgeball Night when he was at FFMS about 10 years ago. Tons of laughter. Lots of pizza. About 20 kids made decisions for Jesus. 8 were first-time decisions. Praise the Lord! THANK YOU to the adult volunteers at FFMS FCA for putting on such a great event. And if you support FCA, thank you for helping to make it happen. What a great night!
