Yesterday was a transport day!

We loaded up 11 pups that are set to arrive in Michigan in the next few hours, then they head to their new foster or adopted homes.

Shout out to our fosters and community caretakers for saving these precious pups.

Rhonda who saved sweet Wylie and Sasha. Wylie was a single pup found all alone in the Leveretts Chapel area if I remember correctly. Sasha we tagged from Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center.

Suzanne who saved sweet Willa, a Great Pyrenees pup found wandering around a neighborhood in rural Kilgore.

Priscilla and family who took in a litter of 3 pups from a Rusk County stray.

Rebecca who saved a whole litter of dumped pups in Tatum. 2 headed out now and hopefully more next time.

Ava who saved little Tito who was wandering around a lake in Palestine.

And Laura who saved 2 dumped pups in Gilmer (if I remember correctly).

This is what we do, help the helpers from all over East TX. Not just Kilgore, not just Rusk County. If they can get to our vet and our transports, they can foster instead of expecting us to figure every part out, and our partners can take their pups, we fight along side them.

I wish we could save them all, but we work really hard to save what we can. Thank you fosters and caretakers for doing the hard work.

That crazy dog lady needs help!

This organization is in dire need of more hands helping paws. We’ve come a long way this last year, with some new volunteers, but the load is still very heavy for me in particular.

For us to continue rescuing and helping the community in such high volume we must get some new volunteers.

Help needed:

🐾fosters- short (weekends, vacation coverage, for surgeries before transport) or longer term (we typically can give you a pretty good idea of how long when a request is made)

This is Socks.

He’s approximately 16 weeks old and 20 lbs, blue and white terrier mix.

Socks was dumped with 3 adult dogs and another puppy, possibly a littermate.

Socks was picked up by a kind man, with bite marks all over him. Maybe it was the other dogs, maybe it wasn’t.

He saw the vet for his wounds, he has had 2 rounds of parvo vaccines and will receive the next tomorrow, and is current on prevention.

He needs his rabies vaccine, neuter, and microchip. We are happy to oversee this additional vetting if he finds a home.

He is inside a home with another dog, working on potty training, and sleeps in bed with the caregivers.

He is the sweetest boy, and is ready for a home of his own.

I can put you in touch with the people who picked him up.

I need the community to understand I do not have a solution for every dog that you pick up or that wanders up. There isn’t enough fosters, there isn’t enough partners to move dogs to, and there’s not enough adopters.

But I do my best to assist as many people as I can.

3 puppies found curled up in the road, Rusk County, near CR 173.

Are they yours? I didn’t pick them up, but I know who did.

We need a foster, finder cannot foster. But she didn’t want to leave them.

Nearly 500 days in rescue…….

Ruffles and Yukon

Phoenix, Butterfly, Wally, and Willow.

They’ve all been here since May and June of 2025.

My family has cared for them the best we can but we need help.

They need homes of their own. They need foster homes instead of living in outdoor kennels. They need a life worth living.

And at the very least they need some support.

We need 6 metal water buckets (large)

We need 6 new cots.

We need 6 new houses.

We need food.

We need funds for 6 heartworm tests, 6 rabies vaccines, and monthly prevention.

Most of all we need hope that we didn’t save them for no reason.

Can any reputable rescue take just one?

I work too much. Running the rescue is a ton of work. I simply cannot foster them properly, I am a puppy foster. They are now dogs. I need help.
My family and these dogs deserve more than this.

Update:foster found.

Kilgore, TX

We are looking for a foster for 1 6 month old female pup until sometime in November. She will move to Michigan at that time. We just need time to get her vetted and the October transport is already full.

It was a transport day! 8 pups escaped TX for New York City.

3 pups from Kilgore, born to a stray mama who was hit by a car. Saved and fostered by Wakie and then short term fostered by Kristy,so they could make transport. They have 3 more littermates hoping for homes locally.

4 pups from outside Henderson in Joinersville. Saved by Jennifer. She saved these pups from a truly horrible situation. They have 2 littermates looking for homes locally.

1 pup from Kilgore, dumped with 1 other pup and 3 adults. Saved by Sally and family. We are looking for solutions for the adults.

Thank you to North Shore Animal League America and Paws 4 Life for taking our pups and making room on transport.

Thank you to Joyce and Donna who run around vaccinating and assessing these pups.

Thank you to the amazing Lynn for loaning her van and her time to so many rescues.

And thank you to the community caretakers (Wakie, Jennifer, and Sally) for filling a huge void this county has, no shelter for the pups in need. Without a community willing to work along side is we would never be able to help so many puppies find their next step to HOME!

And last but not least, the donors who make it possible for us to keep going. We are small, but our village is amazing.
