Join us for Maui Midrash led by Sam Shnider

Today is Tisha B'av, a day of mourning and remembrance of the conflicts, struggles, tragedies and faith that have motivated the Jewish people.

Last classly we touched briefly on Rabbi Akiva. This class I wanted to review the sources we mentioned about him in last class, and look at a few others to discuss Rabbi Akiva's life, and his unique and heroic role in a world in which the Jewish people were teetering on the brink of disaster, and the significance of his martyrdom, which in some way undermined the finality of death.

Good Shabbos ✨✨ ✨

We are very excited about this evening's Shabbat service - Friday, May 9th, that is being led by JCM's Talmud Torah students. Special thanks to their exceptional teachers: Nicole Lasko, Jessica Pearl-Kwon, Makaela Cooper, and Elinor David for their hard work and organizing this special Shabbat and a delicious dinner to follow. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Families should arrive dressed in their Shabbat best by 5:00 PM, as the service begins at 5:30 PM. Due to limited parking, we highly recommend taking a ride share service or carpooling if possible.

Also, we welcome help with re-arranging the sanctuary for dinner and volunteers for cleanup afterward.

A heartfelt thank you to our generous donors, Aarin Spiegelman and Rachel Holz for sponsoring the dinner. 💓 Special appreciation goes to Elinor for her culinary contributions, and to all families involved—your participation is vital to our community's success.💖

To support JCM so that it can continue to thrive and be able to offer a Talmud Torah program for the upcoming year, we suggest a donation of $18 for adults and $10 for children. Not mandatory but very much appreciated.Thank you for your support, and we look forward to celebrating Shabbat together!

Good Shabbos ✨✨✨ Aloha Friday! 🌺🌈

Please join us for this week's evening services- Friday, May 2nd led by Cynthia Lebowitz and drash given my Michael Lebowitz.

Cynthia and Michael are a duo of our Fantastic Four who provided us with a joyful Shabbat with their music. Cynthia takes the lead on the guitar and Michael delivers a profound drash.

A little about the Lebowitzes...
In 1980 Cynthia began studying the TANACH and met Michael. He also had a love of Jewish history and they began a lifelong study of how to do Hashem’s commandments. Being a lover of history and education they attended CAJE (Coalition for the Advancement of Jewish Education) conferences and many other Jewish camps to learn. All that they have learned naturally flowed into the teaching of our 2 sons.

Cynthia learned how to play the ukulele while living in Hawaii then graduated to guitar and began leading services when needed with Michael doing the drash.

Doors open at 6:00pm
Service starts at 6:30pm
Kiddush and Hamotzi to follow after service
