Makoa Quest

Makoa Quest We are a culturally-rooted nonprofit that provides interactive cultural experiences, which raises funds for cultural experiences for Maui youth.

Makoa Quest is a 501c3 Nonprofit organization dedicated to Hawaiian cultural restoration. We partner with Native Hawaiian Cultural Practitioners who lead culturally-immersive, educational and interactive Quests for private groups of 10 or more. Each Quest raises money which allows us to radiate wealth back into the community with our every step. We are of service to the places that we go and give

money to the Native Hawaiian nonprofit organizations who we serve. This is part of our commitment to regenerative tourism which works to restore the harm that has been done through the illegal occupation of the unceded Hawaiian land. Our commitment to anti-racism involves providing gainful, meaningful work to Native Hawaiian Cultural Practitioners that is not entertainment-based and that instead perpetuates Hawaiian culture through engagement and service to Native Hawaiian organizations. Through the funds that we raise from our Quests, we are grateful to have the opportunity to provide culturally-immersive programs for the low-income community here on Maui.

Registration is still open! 👧👦

Makoa Quest is excited to partner with Nā Keiki O Ke Kai to offer a unique summer experience rooted in Hawaiian culture, ocean stewardship, and ecological education. Through hands-on adventures, keiki will deepen their connection to ʻāina and kai while building confidence, curiosity, and community.

Program Details:
June 16 – July 9 (Tuesdays & Thursdays)
8:00–10:00 am
Kō‘ie‘ie Fishpond, Kalepolepo Beach Park, Kihei
Ages 4–13

Suggested Donation:
• 1 keiki – $180
• 2 keiki – $280
• 3 keiki – $330

Each morning includes:
• Outrigger canoe paddling
• Hawaiian culture and traditional learning
• Fishpond and marine exploration
• Mālama ʻāina activities

Special experiences include:
• Stargazing at Pukalani Observatory
• Overnight camp at Piʻiholo Ranch
• Our signature end-of-program campout

Come spend the summer learning, exploring, and growing alongside our island ʻohana. 🎣🌱🌈
