Part-time Hawaiian Fishpond Community Outreach Educator Positions (Kihei)
‘Ao‘ao O Nā Loko I‘a O Maui, a local Maui non-profit organization, is seeking two part-time Community Outreach Educators. The educators will teach the public about South Maui’s Hawaiian cultural site, Kō‘ie‘ie Fishpond, and general information about the Hawaiian culture. The educators will also conduct outreach at Kō‘ie‘ie Fishpond on a regular basis with site visitors and promote positive ocean stewardship practices.
Applicants should have at least one year experience in teaching in an informal setting, have good communication skills, be able to work effectively with a diverse range of people and age groups, be knowledgeable about the marine environment and have a strong Hawaiian cultural background. Being fluent in Hawaiian is a plus.
Hours average 16 hours per week and schedule must be flexible. Pay is based upon experience and positions are available immediately.
