Sign up to be a Guardian using the link in our bio! A common misconception is that you need to be rich to be a Guardian. But all you really need is a desire to help and friends who feel the same.

With our initiative, we use the power of exponential growth to help our ‘Ohanas. Meaning, if you as their Guardian reach out to your inner circle, and they in turn do the same, the amount of donations that this family could potentially receive could help them afford basic necessities, rent, and potentially even help them rebuild when the time comes.

While there are many organizations that offer financial assistance, many of those affected do not qualify or if they do, in most cases, the aid is not enough. So to help us ensure that these ‘Ohanas get the financial support they need, sign up to be a Guardian through the link in our bio!

Lahaina. Even in these black and white photos you can tell she used to be lush and green. If you look closely, you can still see some of the wetlands in the background that so many have been talking about. Her landscape is almost unrecognizable in comparison. So many of those natural wetlands now filled in with dirt. Let’s move forward with these images in mind and aim to restore the natural ecosystem that so many people will depend on.

Last but certainly not least, our final Volunteer: ! Aside from her studies at UH Manoa, Maui has been the only home she’s ever known. Naomi has lived on just about every side of the island! Hana, Kihei, Wailuku, you name it! And before August 8th, she had planted her roots with a local family in the heart of Lahaina. Having been through the process of losing a home and everything that follows, she has much needed insight to help our better understand how we can help. She also was the manager of the Territorial Savings Bank in Lahaina where she got to develop close relationships with members of the Lahaina community. In the midst of loss, Naomi has been able to find ways to help as part of the OGG team.

Introducing one of our Co-founders, ! She’s not very active on Instagram, but she is in her community! She moved to Maui in 1990 and found her first home in Lahaina. Originally planning to stay for only 3 years, Lahaina played a big part in keeping her here. In 1991, she established “I Do” Weddings based out of Ka’anapali and is now providing spiritual counseling and is enrolled in Nā Keiki O Emalia to provide grief support for our Keiki. Needless to say, she’s ready to be of service and help who she can!
