SEAL TAMPA BAY DAY 9 PICTURES!

Boatswain Chase commanded his crew well, departing from St. Petersburg Yacht Club and began makingway for SSV. Bonne Femme's home port of Snell Isle. On the way back to Snell Isle, participants practiced Line Of Positioning, general charting work, and got to know more about the ICW. SEAL TAMPA BAY DAY 7 PICTURES!

Today SEAL Boatswain Clayton lead his crew around the St. Petersburg channel on a very interesting day sail seeing Coast Guard aircraft and other aero planes as they came in for a landing at the airstrip here. After a fun day the crew returned to port here at the yacht club and started up on their individual presentations and assignments. After the Skippers minute tonight we held our Change Of Watch ceremony where SEAL Boatswain Sage took command of her crew.

SEAL TAMPA BAY DAY 6 PICTURES!

This morning the SEAL crew under the command of Boatswain Nathaniel took up anchor and sailed the SSV Bonne Femme into the St. Petersburg Yacht Club making port by way of a hip-tow provided by SSV Knot kNORMal. We had our ships dinner at the historic and beautiful St. Petersburg Yacht Club! A great day ending in some leadership classes provided by Skipper BAR and the Change of Watch (COW) where SEAL Boatswain Clayton took command.

(Update on the engine failure: After getting into port, a run was made in an attempt to retrieve the water pump part we needed to repair the Bonne Femme engine but the part is long away from arriving here. Thus, we are continuing with the course while having the participants prefom day sails about SSV Knot kNORMal out of St. Petersburg until it's time to head back to our home port.)

SEAL TAMPA BAY DAY 5 PICTURES!

Yesterday, SEAL Boatswain Jack commanded his crew departing from Tampa Sailing Squadron and later in the day reaching the Dick Misener bridge where the SEAL crew dropped anchor for the night. The SEAL crew faced many challenges on our way including an engine failure that ultimately led to a total day of intense sailing in the rain. Once the crew had dinner and retrieved the colors at anchor, we had our Change Of Watch (COW) where SEAL Boatswain Nathaniel took command.

(More to follow on this engine failure as we know what went wrong and plan to make repairs at St. Petersburg yacht club today. Regardless of our setbacks, this journey will continue! Improvising, Adapting, and Overcoming.)

SSV Bonne Femme and SSV Knot NORMal began makingway today under the command of Model Boatswain Taylor. We came from Snell Isle to the edge of MacDill Air Force Base's border in a recreational area and dropped anchor after having done some sailing and man overboard dills with the participants on the way over. The change of watch (COW) took place this evening over a wonderful sunset and Sea Scout Evan is now the SEAL Boatswain and in command for 24 hours.
