The Spirit of God is touching hearts at RMC in Lake Butler. Since the recent holiday weekend, we have received reports from all three units at our institution- the Main Unit, West Unit, and the Work Camp. Within a total of five separate services we’ve learned that 53 inmates have publicly confessed Jesus Christ as the Son of God Who died for their own sins, was buried in the tomb, and rose from the dead.

Most of the work of ministry for all of this was done by our amazing volunteers from Churches in Gainesville and Jacksonville, who gave of their holiday personal time to serve the incarcerated men at RMC. ❤️🙏❤️🙏

Pray for these new Believers; and pray for us as we do the important work of follow-up to help these men in their first steps as followers of Jesus.

In the midst of today's worries, pause to recall the many instances where our Lord Jesus has tenderly looked after you, generously provided for you, and calmed your fears with both His reassuring promises and guiding providence. His unshakeable nature ensures His power and authority have always governed, and will forever govern, the universe; and nothing can separate you from His love that endures forever.

One-on-one ministry often happens in the quietest moments. Yesterday , I sat with a young man facing an unimaginable crisis, and in that space, God provided a moment of peace.

This is why our 'Behind the Fence' programs matter. It’s not just about the large services; it’s about being there for the one.

How can we pray for you today? Drop a comment below. 🙏✨

No doubt about it, I love and live for Open Chapel services when 60-80 men gather for fellowship, worship, prayer, and preaching, but lately God has given me numerous opportunities for vital one-on-one ministry with inmates facing crisis situations.

Recently, one young man was sent to see me when he received the call that his one-month-old son had tragically died. His shock and grief were palpable and raw. He was already incarcerated when the baby was born; he never had the chance to see or hold his baby boy, and he was not able to be with his family when his little one was buried. He sobbed, and I cried with him. Mostly, I just sat with my hand on his shoulder; words don’t come easily in times like this.

Today, another young man asked to speak with me after the morning service. He walked into my office clutching one copy of pretty much everything we have on our literature table—tracts, Bibles, Our Daily Bread, etc. When I asked how I could help him, he struggled to explain what was on his mind. Finally, he just blurted out, “Chap, I think I need God in my life or something!” If you’ve ever been here in a real God moment like this, then you probably know what happened next. After 15 or 20 minutes of sharing God’s precious Word and showing him how God so loved him—that He gave His Son Jesus to die for his sins, and that He rose from the dead—we joined hands, and in his own words, he asked the Lord Jesus to forgive him, come into his life, and save him.

The harvest is so ripe in prison ministry. Send us a DM if you’d like to learn more! 🙏❤️✝️🩸🙏

How does true transformation take place in someone’s life?

No doubt there are many ways that question could be answered, but is there what might be called, the best way?

Consider this: In the four Gospels, Jesus asked a total of 305 questions. Other people asked Him a total of 183 questions, and only 8 times did He give a direct answer.

What if instead of learning how to give better answers, we improved our ability to ask better questions?

Imagine Jesus asking you some of the questions recorded in Scripture:

Matthew 7:3: Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

Matthew 8:26: You of little faith, why are you so afraid?

Matthew 9:28: Do you believe that I am able to do this?

Matthew 16:13-15: Who do people say the Son of Man is? But what about you? Who do you say I am?
