Initially, Family Resource Networks grew out of The Governor’s Cabinet on Children
and Families, which was formed out of Senate Bill 1 (SB1) in 1990 with the charge
of developing family-centered structures throughout the state. Family Resource Networks are meant to provide:

• A planning body that assists to coordinate services and minimize duplication of
services.
• A way to share information ab

out resources in the community.
• An avenue to critically review the community’s needs and what can be done to
meet these needs and address service gaps.
• A body to collaborate with other agencies and citizens to help improve services
for recipients.
• A way to bring recipients of services and providers together to review what
works and what doesn’t and look at changes in the delivery system. The Mineral County Family Resource Network has a general membership of
approximately 45 representatives of Mineral County agencies/organizations. A mailing/e-mail list of interested parties numbers approximately 200. The Board of Director's is a 14 seat governing body. The Board currently consists
of 10 community/family consumers, and has members that serve as representation
of the following service areas: Behavioral Health, Education, Economical,
and Physical.

💙 Mineral County Day of Caring & Sharing is almost here! 💪🌱

We’re getting ready to come together on Thursday, September 17, for a morning of service, teamwork, and community impact across Mineral County!

If you’re participating this year, check out the event information below for everything you need to know—from our 8 a.m. kickoff at Brooks Park through lunch at noon.

📣 Team leaders & site supervisors: Don’t forget to connect ahead of the event to coordinate project details, tools, and supplies. All forms are due to Terri by Friday, August 28.

We can’t wait to see what our volunteers accomplish together!

🐛🏵Check out this FREE event for Mineral County grandparents and their grandchildren on Sunday, September 20 at 1:00 at Brookdale Farms. Grandparents and their grandchildren will learn about bugs and their purpose in our environment, create a craft related to the topic, and enjoy raffles/giveaways! And to end the day, they will plant and take their very own mum, making the experience something they can continue to cultivate. 🏵🐛

Every year for over 2 decades, these guys and their village support Warm the Children. They plan, ask, and feed all for the mission of helping children purchase new winter clothes.
