Update on beautiful miss Maleigha ❤️

First off I want to start off by saying Maleigha’s MRI was clear! 🙏🏻😭 Everything looked great. They said there was some inflammation but it’s the same on each eye so it’s more than likely from her chemo. She had an EUA yesterday and they said her right eye is still stable. The tumor hasn’t grown any or shrunk any. And the retinal detachment hasn’t gotten any better or worse. There was some calcified spots on her left eye (the good one) but she said it’s normal in kids but considering her circumstances they will keep an eye on them. So over all it was a good visit.

However, we had a long talk with her doctor yesterday and have came to the conclusion that Maleigha will be getting an enucleation (removal) of her right eye... this has been something we have been thinking about but never thought it would be happening this soon. Dr. Correa is just concerned since the tumor in her right eye died while leaving some behind. She said it can become active at any point in time and when it does it will take off fast. Since Maleigha is completely blind in her right eye, there really isn’t any reason to keep it. It’s only a danger to her and would be a large amount of upkeep. (EUA’s every 4 weeks for the next two years, which is a lot on Maleigha.)

As of right now we are scheduled on June 23rd for surgery but don’t know any further details. We will be scheduling a phone conference with Dr. Correa and will know more info then!

Please keep all of us, especially Maleigha, in your thoughts and prayers. We’re at loss for words on the whole situation. It has been such a hard decision for us to make but we know it’s the best for our baby girl... She’s the strongest little girl we know. God made her this way for a reason!! 🙏🏻💕

With much deliberation and concern with COVID 19 and the safety of not only our recipient but for our participants, as well as a fear of a delay on sashes since they come from California .We have decided to post pone the next Battle of Hope Pageant that was to take place on May 17th. Once we can acquire a new date we will make the announcement of the new date in place. With Chelsea getting married in August and my husband and I going through the process of a new home, we feel the best date will be chosen in October, which will be our 4yr anniversary time

We will keep everyone posted on a new date....

We hope everyone is staying safe in this crazy time!

Much love and many blessings!

Praise the Lord! God is Good!!!

Maleigha says “Yippee, no more chemo for me!!! I’m in FULL REMISSION!!!” 😭💛💪🏻🎗

We’re so over the moon happy and thankful right now!!! Words cannot even described all the emotions Jaron and I are feeling!! The only thing I can say is Praise the Lord!!!! 🙌🏻❤️

Dr. Correa said that no new tumors have formed in the left eye and it looks great! However, with the right eye, even though it’s now in remission the retinal detachment is actually worse and there was even some slight bleeding. She’s thinking that it’s just been a lot of work on the eye and it’s needing a break to get rid of all the scar tissue, etc! She said closely monitoring it once a month for a full year. She will also get an MRI in a few weeks to make sure everything is good with the nerve!!

The right eye has little to no vision, she believes she can only see light/large movements out of it. When we asked her what we would do if the tumors were to come back she said that’s when we would talk about removal of the eye... She said we aren’t in the woods yet but will be soon enough just need to give the eye time and just pray on it!!

Anyways, our baby is officially cancer free!!! 💛🎗 She has WON her battle!!! 💕 Even though she still has many more obstacles ahead of her, I’m so happy that this part is over with!!! 😭 Shes a strong little fighter!! 💪🏻

Thank you so much to everyone that has prayed, thought of us, donated and just simply been there through all of this!! It’s truly been the most heartache and pain I’ve ever been through in my life. It means the world to us, and we will never forget it!! Please keep praying for Maleigha!! 🥰🙏🏻❤️
