A re-working of Pastor Grace's sermon yesterday. Matt. 15:21-28

The Canaanite woman teaches us what true, radical faith looks like. Even when met with a harsh boundary, she didn’t argue or walk away. She simply trusted that a crumb of Jesus's grace was more than enough to change her world.

Jesus called her faith "great"— words he used only twice: once to the Roman Centurion and the other to this Canaanite woman (while he pretty regularly admonished his own disciples for their "little faith").

Are we willing to step forward with that same brave vulnerability?

WE'VE SAVED YOU A SEAT
Sunday, August 16, 2026 at 10 AM, in person and Facebook Live. Come as you are.

“Like yeast, it’s impressive how considerably an ounce of determination can make one’s efforts grow and expand.”
― Richelle E. Goodrich

Isaiah 56:1, 6-8 & Matthew 15:21-28

This Sunday brings us into "enemy" Canaanite territory and the extraordinarily brave faith of one woman. A dogged faith, you might say. Jesus first ignores, then engages, then insults (!?), then learns, then heals and blesses. It's an amazing journey they take together: to step forward in faith, to be teachable, to be vulnerable.

Pastor Grace's sermon: "Brave Faith/Moved to Compassion"
Terri Sadler, Liturgist
Leigh Huber, Music Director, has some wonderful hymns and songs in store.

CCK will host Fellowship Coffee Hour. Join us!
