A great start to the new Zonta year! 🌻 Thank you to Zonta Club of Key West President Mechelle Burgohy for organizing a thoughtful and productive Board Retreat. The retreat gave board members an opportunity to connect, plan for the year ahead, and continue our shared commitment to improving the lives of women and girls in our community.

We look forward to kicking off the year at our first General Membership Meeting on Tuesday.

Congratulations to the Key West High School Class of 2026! 🎓❤️

The Zonta Club of Key West was proud to recognize this year’s scholarship recipients during Class Night, awarding a total of $17,100 to outstanding young women for their leadership, academic achievement, volunteerism, and community service.

Scholarships were presented by Zonta Club of Key West President Mechelle Burgohy, along with club members Melinda Rice and Alison Kerr. We are so proud of this remarkable group of future leaders and wish them continued success in all they do! ✨

Thank you to everyone who attended the 44th Annual Radio Day Party! We had an incredible evening filled with great music, dancing, laughter, and community spirit at the William Weech American Legion Hall. A special thank you to Soul City DysFunkShunals for the amazing live entertainment, the William Weech American Legion Hall for hosting us, and all of the volunteers who helped make this event possible. We are so grateful for your support of our scholarship fundraiser and can’t wait to celebrate with everyone again for Part 2 later this summer!

Her commitment to giving back through community events, senior center volunteering, and women’s health awareness efforts reflects her caring spirit and dedication to making a positive difference.

Manuela Vargas – Leadership Scholarship

Congratulations to Manuela Vargas on receiving the 2026 Zonta Club of Key West Leadership Scholarship! 💛 Manuela has shown outstanding leadership through her involvement in Student Council, Executive Board, Z-Club, Fashion Club, and National Honor Society, while also dedicating countless hours to community service projects supporting women and families in need. She plans to attend the University of Florida to study Psychology with a minor in Marketing, and hopes to continue making a positive impact through service, leadership, and helping others.

The Zonta Club of Key West proudly congratulates Lillian Andrew on receiving the 2026 Centurion Scholarship! 💛 Lillian has demonstrated exceptional leadership, creativity, and dedication throughout her high school years. She served in numerous leadership roles including Vice President of Drama Club and founder of the Peer Mentorship Club, while also contributing more than 120 community service hours. Lillian has been accepted to the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama at the University of London, where she plans to major in Technical Theatre and Stage Management, pursuing her passion for theatre, production leadership, and the arts.
