🐱💙 Zonta Club of Key West members were proud to lend a hand at Caturdays at Sloppy Joe’s, supporting Womankind and the important health services they provide to women in the Florida Keys.

Each Saturday, Sloppy Joe’s Foundation partners with local nonprofits to raise funds and awareness. This week’s event helped support Womankind’s efforts to provide accessible care, including services for women who are uninsured or underinsured.

We’re grateful to everyone who came out, donated, and supported this wonderful community cause! 💛

On behalf of the Zonta Club of Key West, we extend our sincere thanks to the Rotary Club of Key West for welcoming Zonta member Nicole Belles as a guest speaker and for the opportunity to share more about Zonta’s 45 years of service and advocacy for women and girls in our community. We are grateful for Rotary’s hospitality and continued commitment to making a difference in Key West.

Our guest speaker this Thursday is Nicole Belles.

Nicole is a longtime member of Zonta Club of Key West, which is celebrating 45 years of serving and advocating for women and girls in our community.

Professionally, Nicole is Chief Product Officer at GeneSprout and has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare, data and analytics. GeneSprout focuses on pediatric genetic screening, helping identify genetic risks earlier so children can receive appropriate care sooner.

Nicole will share more about Zonta’s work, its 45-year impact in Key West, and its continued commitment to women and girls.

Our prayers go out to the people of Nepal 🇳🇵

Our thoughts are with the people of Nepal following the landslide that caused devastating floods on 26 August.

Zonta International has been in contact with Zonta leaders and members in Nepal, and we are grateful to report that all Zontians are safe.

We appreciate the compassion and desire of Zontians to support and help. As the situation unfolds, we encourage patience as the clubs assess how to best address the needs of those within their communities.

As the impacts of this disaster continue, we remain committed to advocating for climate justice and gender-responsive climate action that ensures women and girls are not left further behind.

👏 👏 👏 congratulations!

Some achievements extend far beyond the individual, they become milestones for a nation.

Today, we celebrate Governor Bernadette Gibson, whose election as Governor of Zonta International District 11 marks a historic first. She is the first Bahamian and the first leader from outside the United States to serve in this role, representing thousands of Zontians across a district that spans the southeastern United States, Puerto Rico, the British Virgin Islands, and The Bahamas.

This achievement reflects more than 26 years of dedicated service, steadfast leadership, and an enduring commitment to improving the lives of women and girls. Throughout her Zonta journey, Bernadette has led with integrity, mentored future leaders, and championed initiatives that advance equality, opportunity, and advocacy.

Her election is a proud moment for The Bahamas and a reminder that leadership, vision, and service know no borders.

Congratulations, Governor Bernadette Gibson. May your tenure inspire others to lead with purpose and continue building a better world for women and girls.

Yellow was the color of the evening as the Zonta Club of Key West gathered for our June General Membership Meeting! 💛

A heartfelt thank you to our co-founder, Debbie Flynn, for graciously hosting us at the Key West Yacht Club and for a delicious Taco Tuesday dinner. Club President Mechelle led a wonderful meeting as we planned for an exciting new fiscal year filled with fellowship, service, and fundraising to continue helping women in need in our community. Here’s to another successful year ahead! 💛🌮✨

A great start to the new Zonta year! 🌻 Thank you to Zonta Club of Key West President Mechelle Burgohy for organizing a thoughtful and productive Board Retreat. The retreat gave board members an opportunity to connect, plan for the year ahead, and continue our shared commitment to improving the lives of women and girls in our community.

We look forward to kicking off the year at our first General Membership Meeting on Tuesday.
