🐢💚 A turtle rescue is a turtle rescue!

One of our volunteers found this sweet girl hanging out in her pool, apparently trying to beat the Florida Keys heat! ☀️💦

She managed to find her way to the steps but couldn’t get out on her own. Luckily, help was close by!

Not exactly the kind of turtle we’re used to working with, but hey, we’re Save-A-Turtle, and saving a turtle is saving a turtle. IT COUNTS! 😂🐢💚

Healing vibes for Awax! 🙌💚🐢

Plastic pollution is a heartbreaking threat to sea turtles and so many other animals. Every piece of plastic we keep out of our oceans makes a difference. Let’s give these incredible creatures a fighting chance! 💙

Some good news for Awax! 🐢💚 She defecated and passed some plastic, which is an encouraging sign that material is moving through her digestive system.

It’s heartbreaking to see the amount of plastic and microplastics these young turtles can ingest, but passing some of it is a positive step in Awax’s recovery. We’ll continue to monitor her closely and make sure she gets the care she needs.

Keep those healing energies coming for this little fighter! 🙏🏼✨

One of the last nests of the season here in the Keys. 🐢💚

As another sea turtle nesting season comes to a close, a few of our late-season nests are still keeping our volunteers busy.

After weeks of monitoring, there’s something pretty special about inventorying a hatched nest and seeing the tiny tracks left behind by hatchlings that made their way to the sea. Every nest tells a story—and we’re grateful to be here for them.

Nesting season isn’t over quite yet, so please continue to help us keep our beaches Clean, Dark & Flat through October 31. 🌊🐢

A huge THANK YOU to MCSO, Sheriff Rick Ramsay and everyone who purchased a coin and helped make this partnership such a success. We are so fortunate to have a community that shows up for our sea turtles! 🐢💙
