'One human family': Group set to open the Florida Keys’ only LGBTQ+ community center

The non-profit group Q***r Keys is gearing up to open the island chain’s only LGBTQ+ support community center. The Key West city commission helped clear the way for the organization to reach its goal by voting to waive over $3,000 in fees for the group to receive a permit to operate.

KEY WEST: This week I will be heading to Key West, FL to support Chris Massicotte who is running for County Commissioner in Monroe County, which is the entire Florida Keys. Chris' event will celebrate Pride and bring awareness for the equality of the LGBTQ+ community. Chris is working towards creating a sustainable future for the Florida Keys by ensuring tax payers' dollars are spent responsibly, that there is a plan for affordable housing and proposing smart infrastructure decisions.

The event will take place on Thursday June 13th from 5-7pm at the famous Aquaplex, known for its unique drag shows, a show stopping cabaret, exciting drinks and a multitude of experiences all under one roof.

A graduate of the Word of Life Bible Institute and minister of the Universal Life Church & American Marriage Ministries. An appointed state of Florida Notary Public who enjoys administering oaths & affirmations, as well as conducting wedding ceremonies.

Jason owns and operates Island Times Events, a full-service wedding planning company specializing in LGBTQIA+ weddings here in the Keys.

At the present time, he serves our community as an HIV prevention and treatment specialist.
