Coral Restoration Foundation is a nonprofit ocean conservation organization restoring coral reefs, educating others on the importance of our oceans, and using science to further research and monitoring techniques. Through our innovative techniques, such as our coral tree nursery methodology, we are able to actively and successfully grow previously dominany, reef-building corals in our nurseries an

d outplant them onto the coral reefs. With impressive milestones in our past and in our future, we have proven that our methods are successful and they are making a difference for our oceans.

When you’re working in the coral nursery and dolphins stop by to say hello! 🐬🐬

A pretty unforgettable day underwater for our restoration team.

Moments like these are a reminder of why reef restoration matters. Healthy reefs help support thriving ocean ecosystems for all marine life. 🪸

Where's your dream coral reef diving destination that you haven't visited yet? 🪸🌎

There are some reef sites that stay with you forever. 🪸

For our Marketing & Communications Director Beth Vessels, Cheeca Rocks, in the Florida Keys was once one of her favorite places to dive as a scuba instructor roughly 30 years ago.

Recently returning to this reef brought back memories, emotions, and hope. Seeing restoration work firsthand and a thriving coral ecosystem was a reminder that the reefs we love are worth fighting for. 🩵

Today on , we’re shining a light on threatened and endangered coral species. 🪸

Species like staghorn coral, elkhorn coral, and pillar coral are facing severe declines globally. According to the IUCN, 44% of reef-building coral species worldwide are at risk of extinction. Although often overlooked in conversations about endangered species, corals are animals in their own right AND provide critical habitat for reef communities.

Alongside our friends at Endangered Species Coalition, who work to protect threatened and endangered species, we’re celebrating the importance of protecting biodiversity above and below the ocean’s surface. 🩵

At Coral Restoration Foundation, we’re actively restoring endangered coral species across Florida’s Coral Reef while also preserving genetic diversity through the cultivation of unique coral genotypes.

Because we refuse to let corals go extinct on our watch.

In celebration of the legendary Sir David Attenborough's 100th birthday today, drop a 🩵 in the comments if these wise words inspire you to care for our blue planet.

We agree that understanding nature is the first step towards protecting it.

Coral reefs support marine life, coastal communities and global biodiversity. When children learn how reefs function, they gain the tools to care for them. Through coral restoration AND education, we are investing in knowledge that lasts across generations.
