🌞🐾 The UKHS Monthly Scoop – June Edition! 🐾🌞

We are excited to share that during the month of May, we celebrated 21 adoptions! 🎉 That’s 21 deserving animals who found loving homes and the opportunity to begin wonderful new chapters outside of shelter life. Every adoption creates space for us to help even more animals in need, and we couldn’t do it without the support of our amazing community.

As summer temperatures continue to rise, please remember to protect your pets from the heat. Pavement can become dangerously hot and may burn sensitive paw pads in just minutes. If the ground feels too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for your pet’s paws. Consider walking during the cooler morning or evening hours and always provide plenty of fresh water.

📅 Be sure to check out this month’s clinic dates! We offer spay and neuter services, microchipping, and vaccinations to help keep your pets healthy, safe, and protected.

🎟️ Don’t forget about our Patriots for Paws Bucket Tickets! Every ticket purchased helps support the animals in our care while giving you a chance to win some amazing prizes.

Thank you for being part of the UKHS family and helping us continue our mission of giving animals a second chance. Here’s to an amazing summer and many more happy endings ahead! ❤️🐶🐱

We were notified about a small kitten that was spotted along the stretch on the other side of the fence around MM 122. While our nonprofit shelter does not directly go out and capture animals, we are incredibly fortunate to have dedicated volunteers who step in to help when emergencies arise.

Our amazing volunteers, Renee and Kaelynn, were able to safely trap and rescue this kitten. Because our shelter is currently at full capacity, the kitten is being fostered and cared for at Shelly’s home while we work to determine the extent of its medical needs.

At this time, we urgently need donations to help cover this kitten’s veterinary care. The kitten will require X-rays and a full medical evaluation so we can better understand its condition and provide the treatment it needs.

If you would like to help give this little one a chance at a healthy future, please consider donating through the specific link below. Every dollar makes a difference and goes directly toward this kitten’s care.

Thank you for supporting our rescue efforts and helping animals in need. ❤️

We wanted to bring attention once again to five of our almost-adult kittens who have been calling the Cat Café home since they were tiny babies: Roosevelt, Lorenzo, Raven, Victor, and Teddy. ❤️

We always say that every kitten who comes through our doors will eventually find their forever home, and for the vast majority, that happens quickly. But every so often, there are a few special cats who get overlooked as younger kittens continue to arrive. These five have watched countless friends come and go while they patiently wait for someone to choose them.

Soon, they’ll be graduating from the kitten room and transitioning into our adult cat room. While they’re still young at heart, they’re growing up before our eyes.

When our newest group of kittens arrived, it was definitely an adjustment for them. The Cat Café had always felt like their territory! But something amazing happened. These younger kittens brought out a side of Roosevelt, Lorenzo, Raven, Victor, and Teddy that we had never seen before. They have become more playful, more confident, and more social than ever. While they can still be a little shy and tend to trust only a select few people at first, they have come such a long way and continue to blossom every single day.

Watching them interact with the new kittens has been incredible. It’s as if these little newcomers reminded them how to be carefree kittens again, and we are so proud of the progress they’ve made. 🥹

We are incredibly hopeful that someone will give these babies-at-heart the chance they deserve. To help them find their forever families, their adoption fee remains 50% off, bringing it down to just $50.

Come meet them for yourselves. Maybe you’ll fall in love with one of these sweet souls. Maybe you’ll adopt a younger kitten and decide one of these older kittens would make the perfect companion. Or maybe one of these five has been waiting all this time because they were meant specifically for you.

Their forever homes are out there—we just need help finding them. ❤️🐾
