This week was a powerful reminder of our who, what, why, and how.

We are the Rotary Club of Key Largo, a group of community-minded individuals committed to serving, volunteering, and raising funds to make a lasting difference right here in the Keys.

That mission was especially meaningful this week as our club awarded scholarships to 28 graduating students totaling $43,000.

This is why we do what we do. đź’™

Everyone is always welcome at our Rotary meetings, even our 4-legged friends named Gumby!!!! We welcomed Marrvelous Pet Rescues - MPR today. Believe it or not, they are celebrating their 20th Anniversary & were able to rescue 78 dogs last year! Additionally, our Scholarship Chair, Suzanne Holmquist was filled with great stories about last nights capping at Coral Shores High School. We funded 28 students with scholarships in excess of $43,000. This is Rotary's Super Bowl! It's what each and every Rotarian works tirelessly for!

Tonight we were able to give out 28 scholarships totaling over $43,000 to Coral Shores High School students who are pursing vocational education and/or have excelled in the Interact Club.

We proudly sponsor the local Interact Club, empowering students to give back through countless hours of meaningful community service throughout the community.

Rotary is a service club, as our motto is “Service Above Self” and these students exemplify that.

CSHS Principal Laura Lietaert, Board Member Sue Woltanski, TVM Principal April Smith, CSHS Interact President Nathaniel Shugarman, Superintendent Ed Tierney, and Key Largo Rotary Club President Stephanie Russo gathered after this morning’s club session where Superintendent Tierney presented the Year in Review.

It was a great opportunity to reflect on the progress across our schools, celebrate student leadership, and strengthen the partnerships that make Monroe County Schools shine. Grateful for the collaboration and commitment shown by our educators, students, and community leaders.
