Greater Miami Chapter of the AMS

Greater Miami Chapter of the AMS Miami is the epicenter of hurricane related meteorology. Additionally, there are many people among the general public who are interested in weather.

Multiple facilities focusing on research in tropical meteorology (AOML/HRD, RSMAS/UM, FIU) and operational institutions (NHC, WFO Miami) call this city home and make up a unique community of meteorology aficionados. The local chapter serves as a platform to meet, discuss and educate. Scientists and laypersons are invited to our meetings where we hear and talk about all kind of things related to weather & climate.
