Our last event as an organization was bittersweet. We had so many friends and family members join us... and having them there made the event perfection.

A special shout out to Boo Radley and The Finch Kids for doing such a marvelous job.

Thanks to all of those who helped make Teens Taking Action a huge success. You are amazing. We could not have accomplished our goals without you.

A special thank-you and goodbye:

The members of TTA would like to thank the members of our community for the outstanding support we have received over the last four years. You have invited us to be a part of community events, fundraisers, and activities… and we have enjoyed being a part of each and every one of them. We have created so many memories because of YOU.

This is why my announcement comes with such a heavy heart. The 2014 Relay for Life of Henry and Stark Counties will be our last event as an organization. The vast majority of the members of Teens Taking Action are ready to embark on the next stage of their journey. They are graduating high school/college, moving out on their own, getting married, and even having children of their own. “Teens” Taking Action is now made of primarily of those over the age of 18…. Yes, they are officially adults!

So…. a GINORMOUS shout out is in order. THANK YOU TO ALL OF THOSE WHO VOLUNTEERED THEIR TIME TO TEENS TAKING ACTION! We could not have accomplished so much without our wonderful mommies, daddies, friends, families, supporters… and most importantly our members. I love you all so very much.

I wish you all luck and love as you begin new adventures. Thank you for being you.

This past weekend Teens Taking Action had the opportunity to work with the Kewanee Ymca during the Winter Wonderland Tour of Homes. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about local homes and meet new people, while seeing some amazing Christmas decorations. We hope this becomes a yearly event that we can be a part of. Thank you to the YMCA for organizing this event AND also to the homeowners for opening their homes to the public!!!

Christmas caroling at Sullivan's: November 23rd, 2013.

Five members of Teens Taking Action, along with some of their amazing friends, sang Christmas carols at Sullivan's grocery store during Sullivan's Christmas open house on November 23rd. Thank you to the members of Teens Taking Action and their friends for volunteering their time, and a HUGE shout of to Brandi Jackson for asking TTA to lend a hand AND for helping organize this event!

The American Cancer Society marks the Great American Smokeout on the third Thursday of November each year by encouraging smokers to use the date to make a plan to quit, or to plan in advance and quit smoking that day. By quitting — even for one day — smokers will be taking an important step towards a healthier life – one that can lead to reducing cancer risk.

Teens Taking Action participated in our largest service event of the year. The Relay For Life. It was amazing. Times 10 Million. I am so proud of my Teens and I love them all so much. They worked so hard, and did such a magnificent job. They never, ever cease to amaze me!
