On May 6th, Wethersfield District #230 held their annual Spring Band and Choir concert for participating students in grades 5th through 12th. It was a spectacular show with a variety of musical peices.

Throughout the show Mr. Wilson and Ms. Wiyrick announced awards earned by very deserving students. Please join us in congratulating the following students on their awards!

Thank you to everyone who either volunteered, sang, played and enjoyed food with us Saturday!

The event went smoothly and we had music the entire time.

Iris Seiden was our winner for the Whitney Houston Challenge. Wendy Feltz won the trivia question of the night!
"Who originally wrote I Will Always Love You?" The answer was Dolly Parton!

We’ve gotten some feedback and our own ideas of how to continue improving this event next year!

Today is the day everybody! We are hosting our second Spaghetti Dinner in the Wethersfield Cafeteria! We will also have our open mic part of the event as well. If you didn’t sign to perform, that’s okay! Just walk up with a song you would like to do and have fun!

Adult tickets are $10
K-12 students are $5
4 and under are free

We hope to see you there!

Below you will see pictures of the Junior High Band students that participated in the Lincoln Trail Conference for Junior High Bands in the area. The event was today in Cambridge. It was a successful event a great opportunity for our junior high band students!

On Saturday, April 25th from 4-7 Music Boosters will be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner and Open Mic Night!

There is a QR Code on the attached flyer to sign up to be a part of the open mic night part of the event. There will also be karaoke if you choose to do that as well.

We would love to have anyone share their musical talents!

Adult tickets will be $10
K-12 student tickets will be $5
Children 4 and under will be free
* If you participate in the open mic/karoake, you will eligible for a free ticket. Please fill out through the form in the QR code to participate!
* We are also looking for volunteers to help us cook, serve and clean up and you will be eligible for a free ticket in this case as well. Please email Ms. Wiyrick or Mr. Wilson if you would like to volunteer and a schedule will be made!

Last thing, we are looking for donations of paper plates, bowls, napkins and plastic silverware. Please let Ms. Wiyrick or Mr. Wilson know if you can help with this as well!

Hey everybody!

In case you didn’t know March is Music in our Schools month! We had some really exciting things last month!

1) Mr. Wilson and Ms. Wiyrick hosted their first Pops Concert! The high school band featured rock and roll music while our junior high and high school choir featured pop music.

2) 9th-12th grade choir and band students participated in IHSA Solo and Ensemble in Monmouth Roseville. Students received Division 1 and Division 2 scores (all our choir solos received 1’s)! This is really awesome for our students and chance for them to get feedback from music professionals they don’t see in class!
- Unfortunately, I didn’t get pictures of the high school choir students that participated so I apologize! Please add them in the comments if you took any!

3) 5th-8th grade choir students and 7th-8th grade band students participated in the IESA Solo and Ensemble in Princeton! Students received Division 1 and Division 2 ratings. This is really awesome for our students and chance for them to get feedback from music professionals they don’t see in class!

4) Lastly, but maybe the most exciting! The new High School Marching Band uniforms have come in! Enjoy the first look at them!

Our next concert is May 6th and 6:30pm! This is the combined choir/band concert, so please be prepared for a longer evening with wonderful music!

UPCOMING EVENT

LTC fest will be this Monday (2/23) at Stark County High School in Toulon. Students will spend the day preparing music for a 6:30 concert that evening. All are welcome to attend the concert and support WHS and other area band members!

Happy Wednesday! I wanted to try and give one last push for our Wethersfield Music Booster discount cards!

Our students are selling discount cards for $20 and they do not expire until 12/31/2026! The deals on this card are WELL WORTH your purchase and support of the music program. Check out the photos of the card!

This year, we are well below where we were last year. For reference, last year at this time we were close to 150 cards sold but this year we have just made it past 50 cards sold.

Students and parents, please dont forget about this fundraiser as it is typically our most financially beneficial fundraiser. The funds from the fundraisers that Music Boosters organizes are used to help students attend and participate in different musical events, awards for students, supplies, instrumental repairs, etc.

Community members, please reach out if you are interested in purchasing a card!
