We are in need of pet carriers. Med size. I have only a couple left and a couple have seen better days.

We also like to keep a few at the vet office in case someone needs one.

I've done my best to keep everyone happy this week/weekend.

The flamingos did a little switcheroo late Friday night. With their other family members so they could go wish another Happy Birthday. While staying for a birthday party today.

This is so sad to read. I unfortunately never got to met Jody in person. But she started sending messages to me at the beginning of this year offering ideas and support to a complete stranger. All the while struggling with her own health issues.

Thank you Jody. And thank you for all the years of love, compassion and commitment you put into helping the kitties. 🧡🐾🧡

Our hearts are heavy and empty this morning as we must accept that yesterday we lost our fearless leader, our friend, our mentor, our amazing Jody Lund. An advocate for those most in need, animal and human, Jody touched the lives of so many; including ours.
Since 2012, Jody decided that the community cats in our area deserved more than was available, and she became President of Safe House Animal Rescue League and dedicated her life and time to her mission to prevent unnecessary euthanasia and humanely reduce feline overpopulation. Through the years she set processes and methods designed to do just that and her efforts led to the savings of 10s of thousands of felines in our area.
When her breast cancer surfaced again about 3 years ago, Jody began the process of transferring her responsibilities to others; all designed to preserve Safe House and protect her team members and those she loved from an abrupt ending. I pushed back on the transitions unable to fathom that this day would come. Yet, we began that path, and, today, despite our loss, we are stable because of her wise direction. As promised, this beautiful lady's legacy will continue, under her successful processes, as I promised her we would protect her "baby" To the end, she voiced this desire and we will work hard to fulfill her dreams. We will appreciate your continued support.
Words don't come easy this morning and there is so much more to be said about the significant impacts she made. “For you are beautiful, and I have loved you dearly, more dearly than the spoken word can tell”. For now, we will honor her memory and efforts with a smile; as that is what she asked us to do.
Rest in peace my sweet friend, your love was a blessing to so many.
