Wood River Women's Foundation

Wood River Women's Foundation The WRWF engages women in the power of collective giving. We inspire and educate women to become leaders in philanthropy for social change.

The Wood River Women’s Foundation engages women in the power of collective giving. We are a membership organization with almost 300 women who, each year, make a commitment to the people of Blaine County. Together we direct and pool our talents and our funds in support of local nonprofit organizations, helping them to seek effective solutions to persistent problems and community challenges. Through

informed grant-making, our members expand their knowledge of the non-profits and the needs within our valley. We invest in the Wood River Valley by strengthening the social, economic, and cultural fabric of our community through philanthropy.

WRWF VALUES:
Guiding principles that define how we achieve our mission and pursue our purpose.

We are:
Collaborative:
Work as a team with a keen focus on WRWF’s collective giving mission
Encourage, welcome and constructively debate new ideas
Generously share decision-making and knowledge
Inclusive:
Welcome every member to engage at whatever level she chooses
Treat everyone with respect and kindness and address actions inconsistent with our values
Work to build teams that are welcoming to all members and their voices
Embrace differences in skills, backgrounds, talent, and cultures
Acknowledge our inherent biases and work to counter them
Engaged:
Actively work to build positive relationships between WRWF members and the community
Give what time we can to further the WRWF mission
Approach our work as ‘community’ service
Educate ourselves and each other on Valley needs and opportunities
Show up when unexpected needs arise and support each other
Transparent:
Share information even when uncomfortable
Give and receive feedback across the foundation
Act with good intentions and assume others are doing the same
Communicate with candor and empathy
Professional:
Strive to do what’s best for WRWF and our mission
Perform our volunteer duties as if we were being paid and as a reliable colleague
Make tough decisions and accept risk when necessary to further our mission
Spend our limited funds judiciously
Passionate:
Celebrate, appreciate and support each other at every opportunity
Inspire giving among ourselves, other women and the community
Revel in the friendship and collegiality of our fellow members

What a fantastic evening we had mingling together at our annual wine tasting event! Thanks to the lovely Albertsons wine associate, Angela Baron, and her wonderful colleagues, Chase Hamilton and Genevieve Waldman, we enjoyed a memorable time sipping and enjoying conversations. For four wonderful years, they have made this event a looked-forward-to tradition! 🍷🍃

Mike Hoover, Acting Executive Director of the Sawtooth Society, had us leaning in with his energetic and engaging presentation, along with Michael Coiner, Operations Director, entertaining us with their interactive map of the Sawtooth National Recreational Area. It was an informative presentation about the vital work of the Sawtooth Society and how our grant funds will be utilized. Their enthusiasm had us engaged and inspired.🥾🌲👏🏼

A special shoutout to Mimi Ford from Topnotch, who greeted us warmly while handing out generous 20% discount cards to all attendees. We are incredibly grateful to her and owner Adrienne Heyser, a proud WRWF member, for making our evening extra special at their beautiful showroom! 🍃⭐️

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this festive and educational evening! And a special thank you to the WRWF Meet & Mingle team; your efforts don’t go unnoticed. 🍃💕

🍃In early April, we were thrilled to announce a new year of community investment with the results of our 2026 grants cycle! Thanks to the generosity of all our members, and hard work of our Grants team volunteers, WRWF awarded a total of $315,944 to local nonprofits this year, supporting a range of causes that includes healthcare access, food security, education, and outdoor recreation. This year’s funding also included several first-time Grantees, reflecting WRWF’s growing impact and reach across the entire Wood River Valley.

PLANNING FOR OUR FUTURE

For two decades, the Wood River Women’s Foundation has been defined by the power of women’s collective giving. As we look toward our next chapter, the WRWF Board has been focused on one central goal: ensuring our long-term sustainability while growing our community impact. To achieve this, we need both an engaged, growing membership and a financially strong organization.

HELP WRWF GROW!
JOIN THE MEMBER GROWTH TASK FORCE

This year, the Wood River Women’s Foundation is celebrating you! We declared 2026 the “Year of the Member” — an opportunity to strengthen and expand the incredible community of women who make our impact possible.

WRWF Board Member, Sharon Knight, is heading up the task force. You can reach her via our office line, email or find her during one of our events. She’s excited to build a team and welcome you to our very important year ahead! 🍃

Please WELCOME new member— Rosmery Serva Boyle! 🍃⭐️

We are thrilled to have her joining the team of Wood River Women’s Foundation members. Her passionate, caring and inspiring spirit is a gift in our community!

“I am honored to join the Wood River Women’s Foundation and contribute to an organization that strengthens our community through collective generosity and leadership. My work has always been rooted in service, connection, and bringing people together.

I hold an Associate’s degree in Business and come from a business-oriented family, which shaped my early interest in entrepreneurship. I previously owned and operated a restaurant, an experience that deepened my appreciation for hard work, teamwork, and community support. Today, I serve as a Community Organizing Coordinator, where I collaborate with diverse groups, support local initiatives, and help connect individuals and families with resources that improve quality of life.

I am especially inspired by WRWF’s commitment to empowering women and uplifting the Wood River Valley as a whole. I hope to contribute my experience in community engagement and my passion for service to help further that mission.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking in the mountains with my husband and our mini Australian Shepherd, Radhi, and spending time outdoors appreciating the beauty of this valley we call home.”

During a visit to the Senior Connection yesterday, one of our WRWF members was touched to see the grant poster proudly displayed at the entrance. Jovita Pina, the executive director, shared her sincere gratitude for the support, expressing her wish for all the seniors to recognize how much the Wood River Women’s Foundation means to their community. 🤩

After a warm and engaging visit, complete with a joyful photo opportunity, everyone left with happy hearts. 💕

It’s worth noting that nonprofit senior living facilities and aging services frequently receive far less philanthropic support compared to other areas within the nonprofit sector. This reality underscores the importance of our collective efforts to ensure that these vital services continue to thrive and support our seniors. 🍃💸
