NO PHONES, JUST ADVENTURE 🚐⛺️Twelve middle schoolers from our Outdoor Hispanic Leaders (OHL) program are returning from an epic, tech-free 5-day road trip that took them climbing down at Red Rocks outside Las Vegas and back up through Hoover Dam and Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, camping under the stars every night along the way. For many of the kids, this was their first time ever outside Idaho, and an experience they might never have gotten otherwise. Shoutout to our program leaders Ella and Ethan, the OHL families for their shared trust and belief in the importance of our work, and the donors and foundations who made it possible.

This is a chance and a place for 3-5 artists to cultivate individual creativity and/or collaborate in a uniquely beautiful retreat — and applications are open until Monday, August 13th! NEW M.A.T CAMP OPTION FOR SOUTH FAMILIES! ☀️If you live in Hailey or Bellevue and have a 4-7 year old, come check out Roots Adventures Days (R.A.D), a new place-based summer program piloted by Idaho BaseCamp and Mountain Adventure Tours. Same philosophy of outdoor adventure and creativity, but with longer hours, no daily van travel, and a more affordable price, located at our beautiful Bellevue campus. Registration is available in the link in bio — a minimum number of campers is needed to launch this camp, so sign up by MARCH 15TH to make it possible!

Idaho BaseCamp has been serving the small rural town of Mackay, Idaho through the Sahm 5th Grade Program since 2018. The inaugural class of 5th graders who attended seven years ago are now seniors — and their experience at BaseCamp still resonates with them. One senior, Ryker, mentioned that “I learned to step outside my comfort zone, try new things, and work as a team… It made me appreciate nature and how much you can grow from experiences.”

Calling all Wood River Valley anglers 🎣We are getting kids from our Explorers program with out on the river this fall and want your old flyfishing rods and reels! Shoutout to Bellevue Elementary School for kicking off our Spring 2025 season of the Sahm 5th Grade program in style! These kids showed up at our Big Lost Campus for three days and two nights of outdoor adventure education, focusing on teamwork, communication, and connection. And even braved a surprise snowstorm! Over this season, we will host over 250 public school students from four different Idaho counties.

Our Outdoor Hispanic Leaders had a great time during their Spring Break trip last month 🛶☀️ It was the first time canoeing, camping, and exploring the Bruneau Sand Dunes for most of our middle schoolers — and they’ll remember this experience for years to come!
