Due to COVID-19 Protocols, we have limited and varying times we are at the Post home. Call before you visit and if needed, leave a message in advance of your visit. We will be open the 2nd Wednesday of each month, 4pm-8pm, for our General Membership dinner and meeting.

The 60th Rededication of the Dogwood Vietnam Memorial (DVM) occurred on Friday, 17 April 2026 at 11:00 Hours. Four additional fallen Heroes were added to the previously 56 United States of America military veterans honored at "the hill that heals". The American Legion Post 74 Ceremonial Unit delivered the Memorial Volley.

The American Legion Post 74 Charlottesville & Albemarle welcomed the American Legion National Commander Dan K. Wiley, USAF, on Thursday, 5 March 2026. Total donations to the Veterans and Children Welfare Foundation that evening were $5,050 (Consisting of $3,000 from Post 74 and $2,050 from private attendees. Thank you EVERYONE for a wonderful American Legion celebration!

Thursday, 16 January 2026, the American Legion Post 74 was active at the "Day on the Hill" in Richmond, Virginia. The day began with a legislative briefing at the American Legion Department of Virginia Headquarters. Then, we were bused to the General Assembly building to meet with Delegates and Senators. This day was aimed at securing sponsorship for US military veteran related bills.
