1. When contracting with tree service companies to clear your property, please tell them to no longer bring their debris to the compost site effective immediately. They all have locations where they can take that debris and they are billing you for it.
2. LLPOA has a financial agreement with the county for them to bring their tree damage debris from the sides of the road to the compost site. They will be using County resources and subcontractors for that work.
3. The compost site will be open to all Legend Lake property owners, Thursday, and Friday of this week from 8-4 and on Saturday from 10-2.
4. The week of July 15 through the 19th the compost site will only be open to County trucks and their subcontractors for the roadwork they’re doing to clean up debris. It will not be open to residents during that time.
5. Starting Saturday, July 20th the compost site will be open from 10 to 2 to those people who have purchased a compost site pass. Anyone else eligible to buy a pass and wishing to use the compost site will need to purchase a pass from the Legend Lake Lodge office.

Thank you for understanding. We are all doing our best to continue supporting our community in the clean up effort.

Storm damage info
-if you still have contractors cleaning up your property did you know they have places to take the debris? That is built into the price they are charging you. With so much debris coming into the compost site please don’t tell your contractor to take it there. Only property owners should be taking it there unless LLPOA has an arrangement for others to take it there.
-we do have an arrangement with County to bring debris to the compost site and they are sharing the cost with us.
-both county and Alliant are working to clean up more debris that impacts the roadsides and power line areas.
-sawyers are still working on beach clubs to get the downed trees removed

This is a slow but steady process. Please be patient and safe. If sawyers are working on your beach club please show respect and don’t access the area while they are working. This is dangerous work cleaning up storm damage.

Storm damage update LLPOA
Compost site is open. Chipping is going on there to open up more space for brush
-Tree cutting contractors are working at beach clubs
-County is in process of getting loggers to haul out large pieces near roads
-Alliant is working on fixes that they didn’t get to last week
-Caution. There are branches hung up in some trees that could come down in the wind or when other cutting is being done. BE SAFE

Please be patient. Our crew is working diligently to get all the necessary work done.

07/01/2024

I have been asked by Steve Kastning to post an update on work done from all the tree damage
-the compost site will be open daily unless posted otherwise
-chipping will continue at the compost site to deal with all the debris
-LLPOA outdoor staff will be assisting at the compost site due to the large volume coming in daily
-LLPOA has contracted with tree cutting businesses to assist with getting beach clubs accessible. At this point we have no timeline on this
-Beach club work will be first getting trees cleaned up and any tree that is deemed unsafe to be addressed. Other brush work will happen later
-I know everyone wants everything cleaned up faster but it’s critical that we do this work in a focused and safe manner. Please don’t take it upon yourself to clean up your beach club unless it is just picking up brush. Leave the tree cutting to the experts.

Thank you all for your patience at this difficult process.

Compost site update!
With the recent storm damage, many residents have been utilizing the compost site. However, due to the influx of residents and professionals removing storm debris, traffic and crowding has become a concern. IF YOU ARE ABLE, please delay any trips to the compost site until Monday. Doing so will help to alleviate the volume of traffic and keep things running smoothly. Thank you for your cooperation!

Compost site update!
Open Saturday
Earlier in the week the compost was opened and has remained open for the duration of the week. At one point it was our assessment that by Saturday we would not be able to manage the amount of material coming in. As of recent starting tomorrow we have have secured the ability to grind/chip and now will be operating our normal saturday hours.

UPDATE on compost site.
